Chapter 0837
However, the person who entered wasn’t Miranda. It was Willow.
Her heart missed a beat when she saw Hansel’s dark expression. She quickly explained, ” Calvin called and said you were drunk. He was worried about you being alone, so he asked me to come and check on you.”
As she spoke, she walked over to Hansel. “Are you… okay? You don’t seem very drunk.”
Hansel hid his disappointment by lowering his gaze and said calmly, “Yeah.”
“Then I…” Willow bit her lip. “Shall I head back now?”
“Yes.”
She turned to leave.
Suddenly, he heard a startled cry from outside.
Hansel frowned and went out to check. He saw Willow sitting at the bottom of the steps. She was taking off her shoe to inspect her ankle.
“What happened to you? Are you okay?” he asked.
Willow quickly turned when she heard his voice and forced a smile. “I’m fine, don’t worry.”
Hansel glanced at her ankle. “Your ankle is swollen.”
“I probably just twisted it. It’s no big deal…” Willow said, trying to stand up. However, the pain made her suck in a sharp breath as soon as she put weight on her foot.
Hansel frowned, but she insisted, “It’s fine, really. I just need a moment to rest.
The next second, he picked her up in his arms and carried her back to the living room. Willow froze, but a wave of delight surged within her. She’had made the right bet!
Hansel originally wanted to call his family doctor, but he reconsidered his decision. After all, it was late in the night before Easter. He asked Willow, “Is it serious?”
She shook her head. “It shouldn’t be. I’ll be fine in a while.”
Despite her words, Hansel still pulled out the first–aid kit. He rummaged through it and handed her a tube of ointment. “Apply this yourself.”
“Okay, thank you,” Willow answered.
Ten minutes later, she said, “The ointment feels cool at first, then it becomes warm. I feel much better now. As a guy, I didn’t expect you to be so thoughtful as to keep a first–aid kit
at home.”

Hansel said expressionlessly, “These are all the things Miranda stocked up before.”
Willow didn’t know how to respond.
“Since you’re fine now, I’ll have someone send you home…” Hansel trailed off because he only just remembered that he had given Dan the day off. There was no one to call this late in the night.
Willow stood up immediately. “Please don’t trouble yourself! I can get home on my own!”
“Can you get a ride?”
“I… I think so…”
Probably?
She had to pay extra to hail a ride when she came over earlier. After all, this was a luxury neighborhood that was quite secluded…
