Sabrina's POV
"So I take it Aiden marking me was a bad thing?" I ask as they all stare at my neck in astonishment.
"Oh honey, it's worse than that. It's bad enough we have an earthling as the moon goddess but now as my son's mate? We have to undo this!" Aiden's mother says to me and I scoff at her.
"That will not be necessary. I accept the mark and Aiden as my mate, it is my body after all." I say.
"Yes but our family name dragged with it. My son will not be your fourth conquest!" She shouts out before standing up. Her mate following in on her actions.
"It seems I have lost my appetite." She says as she eyes my neck.
Storming off, she huffs as well. Aiden's father right behind her as we all stay silent.
"Well, that was not how I'd hoped things would go. I mean, I'm all for my brother getting in to trouble but that was just..." Luka says and we all turn to face him.
"Just apologize for stirring shit you idiot." Leslie says before smacking the back of his head. She stands up and turns to me,
"It's nice to finally meet you. I know Aiden has dedicated his whole life to finding his mate and I can't imagine how you both feel with the parents against your union. Just know that Luka and I will stand by whatever you two decide." Leslie says before leaving the dining room.
"I'm sorry. I was just, I'm sorry." Luka says to me and runs off to be with his mate.
Leaving us with Jane.
Jane was staring at her plate. I never failed to notice the tear filled eyes she was trying to hide, or how she was holding on to the table so tightly, her knuckles were white.
"Well, that went well." I say trying to break the silence.
"Sabrina, I don't care what my parents say. You are mine and if I have to be disowned by them, then so be it. I'm a grown man, I don't need my parents approval and they need to respect sacred law." Aiden blurts out. Catching his breath once he has said what he said.
"When were you going to tell me?" Jane asks.
We both turn to face her, having forgotten she was still in the room.
"WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO TELL ME?" She screams out, her fiery eyes staring right at my mate.
"Okay, take it down a notch Jane." I say. Not liking the tone she was using on my mate.
"I was with you two days ago and you didn't say anything. I was with you yesterday and you still didn't say a thing. You are aware like everybody else of my feelings for you but you string me along and for what?" Jane says.
They were together while I was passed out on his bed?
"What?" I ask. Aiden failing to meet my eyes.
"I did not string you along. You were aware, like everyone else in my life how I dedicated my life to my mate. I saved myself for my mate, you knew I went to earth to learn of her ways so I could understand her better! You are my friend and I want to spare your feelings but don't blame me for this. You and my mother have been scheming to have me end up with you but you know better, you should know better as my friend! You know I'd never choose you over her, it will always be Sabrina. I don't want anyone else, not you or any other girl in this realm. You know better than to blame me for how you feel. We have never kissed, never done anything remotely romantic together because I don't see you that way. You know the way out." Aiden says, grabbing my hand and helping me up.
