Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 166

Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia Chapter 166

The Shain family was one of the four big families in the Seaxas. Old Mr. Shain and Old Mr. Johnson were best friends, so Rachel had to attend this wedding.

However, with the Shain family’s status, the news of the Shain family’s eldest daughter’s wedding would attract a lot of attention.

However, Rachel did not see the news of Iris‘ wedding ceremony when she woke up.

Instead, the Cruise family was suspected of tax evasion, and the relevant departments were intervening in the investigation.

Rachel sat at the dining table and watched Olivia’s father being taken away in public with an indifferent expression.

She was not too surprised.

She had no intention of letting Olivia off.

“Take not a musket to kill a butterfly.” There was no need for the Johnson family to deal with Olivia.

However, she could just chill since the Johnson family had taken action.

Compared to Rachel’s calmness, Mary was super chatty.

“This is retribution!” Mary said, ” ‘Good deeds come back to you, and bad deeds come back to haunt you. Does she think that the daughter of the Cruise family has great status? She’s just relying on her previous connections to hold on, but she still has to find a shortcut to court death! She’s suicidal!”

Rachel smiled. “I’m afraid she’s the first person who can make our Miss Green so angry that she’s gritting her teeth.”

Mary said without hesitation, “That’s true.”

Rachel noticed that Mary was looking around with a glass of wine in her hand as if she were looking for something. She could not help but ask, “What are you looking for?”

I heard that the Shain family has a special guest. Otherwise, why do you think all the ladies in Seaxas are dressed so beautifully today?” Mary’s gaze landed on Rachel. She sized her up and could not help but tease,

“You’re dressed so low–key. Are you worried that you’ll become the target of public criticism, or are you keeping your chastity for someone only?”

After hearing Mary’s words, an unnatural blush appeared on Rachel’s fair cheeks. “What nonsense are you talking about?”
