Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 244

Chapter 244 Notification

The light reflected in his pitch–black pupils was as dazzling as a myriad of

stars.

Even if it was just a hurried glance, his gaze made people sink into his alluring eyes, unable to extricate themselves.

While she was in a daze, the man’s kiss landed on her lips.

In the quiet private room, the two of them emitted a flirtatious aura that spread to every corner of the room.

Then, Rachel’s phone suddenly rang.

It was Old Mr. Johnson.

Rachel’s brow twitched. She quickly picked up the phone and greeted obediently, “Grandpa.”

“Miss Grey, it’s me.” Mr. Chadwick’s voice came from the phone.

Rachel was a little surprised. “Mr. Chadwick?”

“Miss Grey, Old Mr. Johnson saw the news online. They are being punished

at study. Do you want to come back and take a look?”

Hearing this, Rachel suddenly stood up. “I’ll be right there!”

David could not help but frown when he saw her rushing out of the door. “What happened?”

“Send me back to the Johnson family mansion!”

Rachel briefly explained the situation to David on the way back.

David’s lips curled into a smile. “I thought something major happened.”

“My uncles probably wouldn’t be able to get out of bed for three days if our traditional punishment was used.” After Rachel finished speaking, she opened the car door and got out of the car without looking back.

David sat in the car with a meaningful smile on his lips as he watched Rachel

leave.

He had underestimated Old Mr. Johnson’s love for Rachel.

And this love would become a hurdle for him in getting the beauty he

wanted.

Old Mr. Johnson looked at her and handed her the board in his hand. He took the cup.

The old man silently observed as Rachel exchanged glances with her two uncles kneeling on the ground.

He placed the cup on the table, and let out an audible grunt.

Rachel suddenly came back to her senses and immediately looked at Old Mr. Johnson. She smiled like a blooming flower, her smile filled with flattery. “Grandpa, let me massage your shoulders.”

“Why are you back so late at night?Old Mr. Johnson sized up Rachel. He could not help but frown when he saw the tiredness in her eyes. “Rae–Rae, I handed you the company for you to pass the time. I didn’t ask you to devote

all your time to the company.”

Everything in the Johnson family would be handed over to Rachel sooner or

later.

He had only wanted her to manage the company so that she could gain some understanding of how to do so. He did not expect the girl to work so

hard.

“You didn’t belittle me and are willing to give me the company’s reins. Why would I feel that it’s too tough?” Rachel laughed. She looked up at the two people still kneeling on the ground. She cleared her throat and changed the topic. “Besides, I don’t have it as tough as my two uncles.”

Hearing this, Old Mr. Johnson could not help but sneer, “They have it tough?”
