Chapter 408
After leaving Stellar Corporation, Rachel drove to the law firm of Adrian.
“Hey, what brings you here today?” Adrian put down the document in his hand and raised his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. “What do you want to drink?”
“Were the Johnson family and the Jones family involved in the past. twenty years?” Rachel suddenly asked.
Adrian frowned slightly. “The Jones family?”
“The Jones family in Aureliana.”
“I’ve never heard of it.” Adrian looked at Rachel calmly. “But, why do you suddenly think of asking this?”
Rachel did not say anything. She only held her chin with one hand and stared blankly.
Seeing how distracted she was, Adrian got up and sat down beside her. “Rae–Rae, tell me. Did anything happen?”
Rachel stared at him for a moment. Her intuition told her that perhaps her uncle was also unaware of her engagement.
After hesitating for a long time, she finally told him what had happened.
“I see.” Adrian didn’t seem too surprised.
His reaction aroused Rachel’s interest.
Perhaps she could find some valuable clues from her uncle.
“I’ve heard Mr, Johnson mention this engagement before, but we didn’t take it to heart at that time.” Adrian said, “I heard from your mother that the other party owed her a favor back then. I didn’t tell you all these years. because I hoped that it wouldn’t cause you any psychological burden.”
At this point, Adrian paused for a moment. “However, the Jones family in Aureliana is not a nice family. I think it’s better for you to cancel this marriage.”
Adrian’s words seemed to explain the doubts in Rachel’s heart, but they did not hit the nail on the head.
The Johnson family was in Seaxas, while the Jones family was in
Aureliana. She still could not figure out how the Johnson family was related to the Jones family.
How did the engagement come about?
Since the other party owed her mother a favor back then, could it be that her mother had interacted with someone from Aureliana before?
Questions popped up in her head like a ball of thread that she couldn’t figure out. She was distraught.
“Deal with your work first.” Rachel stood up and bid farewell to Adrian.
Adrian watched as she left. His lips moved as if he had something to say, but he did not say anything in the end.
Peace Cemetery in Seaxas.
This cemetery was situated at the foot of a hill and beside a stream. The location was very nice.
Rachel slowly stopped the car and got out with a bouquet of white tulips. Rachel’s impression of her mother Sophia gradually faded.
As time passed, even the hatred in her heart gradually faded.

would love to see an actual end to this story. for now it's just hanging in limbo...
Please update the chapters and complete the novel...
Its ridiculouse to think it is normal to love bomb someone for couple of days and then they are in love. They dont know each other at all. So annoying to read. And whats more, to kiss by force is romantic?? How the hell is that romantic?? Cant understand its logic....
