Chapter 469
Tom looked at David and opened his mouth as if to speak.
He wanted to say many things, but when confronting David face-to-face, he did not know where to begin.
Within a short period, Tom’s expression changed drastically.
After a long pause, he finally sorted out his thoughts and said slowly, “Mr. Jones, you should know that with your status and situation, you will be putting Rae-Rae’s life in danger if you insist on being with her. It’s as good as hurting her.”
He spoke not only out of concern for Rachel, but his words also contained prejudice against David.
The Johnson family always had misgivings about David and refused to acknowledge the marriage arrangement.
When they found out that David was in Seaxas to break the engagement, both Tom and Arthur were secretly relieved.
They did not expect David to get into a relationship with Rachel behind their backs. The girl had now fallen head over heels in love with David.
Despite all these, David himself was enough to cause unease to anyone. At the same time, he also made many enemies.
Rachel would have to go back to Aureliana with him if they were in a relationship.
What was most worrying was that Rachel not only would not enjoy the close relationship she yearned for but would be subject to a tumultuous time. Worse still, her life might be in danger.
The Johnson family refused to watch Rachel step into a minefield and do nothing.
Both men looked at each other intently. Tom viewed David with distrust and prejudice, while David had a penetrating gaze that made it impossible to guess what he was thinking.
The room fell into a strange silence.
Then, David spoke in a low and cold voice. “No one can touch her with me around.”
His tone was calm, but the tone was firm and forceful.
Taken aback, Tom’s pupils dilated as he continued to stare at David.
Hearing this, David raised his eyes and looked at Tom. His thin lips moved slightly, and his tone was firm. “No one in this world can make me do anything.”
His deep and mellow voice did not contain any emotion yet Tom could sense his arrogance and complacency.
Tom’s heart sk*pped a beat.
He suddenly understood why David got to where he was today. His name struck fear in anyone’s heart. Regardless of his commanding presence or his imposing aura, anyone would feel intimidated.
Suddenly, Tom spoke again. “I hope you can keep your word.”
Meanwhile, Rachel was playing chess with Arthur, but her heart was far away.
“Rae-Rae, you’ve lost again.” Arthur played with the watch in his hand leisurely. He looked at Rachel with a meaningful smile.
Rachel was taken aback for a moment. She subconsciously looked at the chessboard. As expected, her chess pieces were not organized at all. She was not focusing on the game at all.

Its ridiculouse to think it is normal to love bomb someone for couple of days and then they are in love. They dont know each other at all. So annoying to read. And whats more, to kiss by force is romantic?? How the hell is that romantic?? Cant understand its logic....
