Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 486

Chapter 486

“I heard from Jimmy that you weren’t coming. Why did you suddenly change your mind?” Rachel glanced at David.

David looked at her. “I happened to pass by.”

Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly, obviously not believing him. “Marina said it was a coincidence, and you just happened to pass by? The Jones family has many coincidences.”

Hearing her teasing, a hint of indulgence appeared in David’s eyes. “Marina has her own goals, and she’s completely unaware that I’m right behind, watching her.” Of course, the main reason was that David had heard that Old Mr. Shain intended to introduce Jimmy to Rachel.

Previously, when Iris had gotten married, David had purposefully interrupted. David thought that Old Mr. Johnson would have given up on this idea, but hadn’t expected him to be so persistent.

He lowered his eyes to hide his contemplation. “Let’s go. Aren’t you going to show me around?”

“Then let me think about where we should start.” Rachel stood up, placing one hand on her hip with a leader’s aura.

She looked around and noticed the sea of flowers at the foot of the mountain. “Let’s start with those flowers!”

“Okay.”

The garden cosmos that covered the mountains and plains were dazzling.

Under the bright sunlight, Rachel spread her arms and walked through the sea of flowers. Her long black hair flowed naturally in the air and she turned around suddenly, smiling. “David, is it pretty?”

Their gazes met, and David’s eyes turned gentle. “Yes.”

The sea of flowers in front of him was beautiful, but the person in front of him.

was even more so.

Nearby, Eddie had just hung up the phone. He hesitated before walking forward. “Mr. Jones, the meeting is about to begin.”

David responded with a lukewarm attitude.

“Meeting?!” Rachel looked at David in surprise.

After the kiss, Rachel’s lips parted slightly as she breathed softly. Her eyes were filled with passion and beauty, much more attractive than the sea of flowers around them.

David hugged her tightly against him and kissed her forehead. His deep and cool voice was filled with passion as he spoke quietly, “Be good and wait for me to come back.”

Rachel nodded and watched as David left.

David’s words were still echoing in her mind.

She suddenly understood why Marina had taken issue with the Johnson family’s title as the head family of Seaxas.

Rachel had thought that Marina had been thinking of herself, but there was another reason.

Marina might have wanted to replace the Johnson family’s position, or she might have wanted to support another family to take over this position. However, the Johnson family was the head of the Four Families and had maintained this position in Seaxas for many years. They weren’t to be trifled with.

If Marina really wanted to attack the Johnson family, Rachel would protect the Johnson family even if it meant risking her life!
