Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 518

Chapter 518

Dan pursed his lips and finally could not suppress the curiosity in his heart. He asked carefully. “Who’s this lady?”

Lucas answered calmly. “This is my sister.”

It was meant to be a casual introduction, but when it reached the ears of Dan and the others, they heard something very different.

Dan raised his eyebrows and smiled vaguely. He responded meaningfully, “I understand. I understand.”

They were friends first. Then she became his sister and finally became his girlfriend.

Looking at his expression, Lucas knew that Dan must have misunderstood.

He considered explaining it further, but ultimately opted against it after realizing that Rachel’s true identity would be hard to reveal.

“Let’s go and have a look.”

“Okay.”

Everyone in the room noticed Lucas and Rachel as soon as they walked in, even Olivia, who had just been talking to someone else.

Speaking of which, Olivia and Rachel had not met for a long time.

However, this did not stop Olivia from hating Rachel.

Her hands, which had been at her sides, balled into fists as soon as she caught sight of Rachel’s beautiful face.

Someone close to her just said in a hushed voice, “I heard that Mr. Johnson taught the Page family a lesson yesterday. I heard that guy is still lying in the hospital.”

“Is that why Shane is absent today?”

“You might call his run-in with Mr. Johnson a stroke of bad luck. He can only admit that he’s unlucky.”

“But I heard that the boy from the Shain family was also sent overseas because of him.”

These people were not in Lucas’s circle, but they had heard of Lucas’s stunts.

Lucas was unusual and stubbornly insisted on doing things his own way.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have reached out to the Shain and Page families on the Chamber of Commerce’s big day.

After all, with such a pretty face, it was difficult not to attract attention.

“You’re just relying on your looks. What’s there to be proud of!” There was a disdainful voice rang from the crowd.

Olivia looked in the direction of the voice and saw Brenda, the daughter of the Duncan family, standing silently behind.

Brenda’s identity was rather special.

The Duncan family had always kept an extremely low profile.

Although they were not the Four Families of Seaxas, she had a hardworking and capable brother.

Rumor had it that he and Lucas served together in the army back in the day. At this point in time, he served in the military at a very prominent rank.

Because of this relationship, the Duncan family’s status was not considered low.

Brenda was the daughter of the Duncan family. They were already in their golden. years when they had her. She was physically frail because of her youth. As a result of the excessive pampering she received, she developed a spoiled personality.
