Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 517

Chapter 517

Lucas raised his hand and touched the bridge of his nose. He moved closer to Rachel without a trace and deliberately lowered his voice, “Don’t you think that old Mr. Johnson is exceptionally enthusiastic today?”

Rachel raised her eyebrows and gave him a meaningful look.

Of course, she had sensed it too.

The Shain and Johnson families were friends, but Old Mr. Johnson had never given them much attention. Otherwise, he would not have waited for so many

years.

However, Old Mr. Johnson’s attitude toward Thomas was so enthusiastic that Rachel was a little confused for a moment.

Could it be that Old Mr. Johnson suddenly had any ideas about Thomas and Rachel?

As she was deep in her thoughts, she heard David’s voice behind her, “Mr. Johnson.”

Rachel’s back stiffened, and a sense of guilt instantly arose in her heart.

She lowered her eyes, not daring to look directly at David.

When people present heard this, they looked at David.

He walked over and greeted Old Mr. Johnson respectfully, “Mr. Johnson, I have something to talk to you alone. I wonder if now is a good time?”

Not only Old Mr. Johnson, but the others were also stunned.

After hesitating for a moment, Old Mr. Johnson slowly followed after David.

Lucas and Rachel started discussing in low voices.

“What do you think they’ll talk about?”

You

“Why don’t you follow them and take a look?” Rachel looked at Lucas and blinked innocently.

Lucas squinted his eyes at her and snorted, “You’re not afraid to make me take the risk.”

Rachel blurted out, “It’s all because you’re my brother, isn’t it?”

Lucas knew that he couldn’t win Rachel in this conversation. So, he simply pulled her hand and left with her.

“What are you doing?”

Upon seeing the only Venom F5 Roadster car in the entire Seaxas, his eyes lit up. He didn’t care to bother with small talk with anybody else present. He casually handed the wine glass to the guy sitting next to him and trotted over to greet him. “Mr. Johnson.”

Lucas nodded. He walked around, hand in his pocket. “The scenery here is not bad.”

“Back then, I bought this piece of land because I liked the scenery here.” Dan said, “I wanted to develop it, but after thinking about it, I thought it would be better to set up such a hunting ground. It would save much time and money.”

He glanced at Rachel out of the corner of his eye as he talked.

He made covert attempts to understand Rachel and Lucas’s relationship.

After all, the Johnson family had carefully concealed Rachel’s identity throughout her life. Everyone only knew that the Johnson family had kin who didn’t use their

family name, but no one knew who that person was.

Dan was aware of the Chamber of Commerce incident from the previous day. He overheard several members of the Page family branch discussing some matters. Lucas happened to overhear and decided to show him how it was done. He apparently drank so much that he had immediate gastrointestinal bleeding. Finally, an ambulance arrived and whisked him away to get immediate medical attention.

That man was still recovering in the hospital.

People said that a man would do anything for the beauty he loved. Was the man standing before him?
