Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 543

Chapter 543

Rachel seemed to have sensed that something was amiss, and she tightened her grip on David’s hand subconsciously. Trying to divert David’s attention on purpose, Rachel asked, “What do you want to eat?”

“I’m not picky.” David replied.

Knowing that Rachel’s feet were injured and it was difficult for her to move around, David slowed down his pace on purpose as he tried to accommodate Rachel.

Rachel thought for a moment and suggested, “How about soup and a main course with sides?”

With raised eyebrows, there was a glint of happiness that flashed in David’s eyes as he looked at Rachel meaningfully and said, “You seem to know quite a lot.”

“My maternal grandfather had never had any restrictions to the things that I wanted to do, and he had never requested me to do anything either. As long as it’s something that I wanted to do, he would let me do it.” Rachel said unhurriedly. “In addition, when I was in middle school, I did not know what was critical to learn. and what wasn’t. In the end, I learned a lot from Darcy in private.”

As they spoke, the two of them arrived at the stairs.

David bent down and carried Rachel in his arms. David asked casually, “Does that include equestrianism too?”

Rachel nodded.

Of course, for all these years with Darcy by her side, Rachel knew more than just equestrianism.

Entering the kitchen, David rolled up his sleeves and asked, “Do you need my help?”

Shaking her head, Rachel pushed David out of the open kitchen area slowly and declared with confidence, “Leave it to me.”

With quickened steps, Billy hurried into the house. A hint of surprise flashed in Billy’s eyes and he was taken aback when he saw Rachel in the kitchen.

Quickly after, Billy regained his composure and greeted respectfully, “Miss Grey.”

Rachel acknowledged with a light nod and continued with her work on the salmon in her hand.

Rachel’s technique was adept. In a few simple strokes, Rachel separated the fish fillet from the bones perfectly.

Billy was almost dumbfounded when he saw Rachel’s cooking skills. However, Billy suddenly recalled that he had something important to report to David, and

could not afford to be delayed even for a second. With quickened steps, Billy hurriedly made his way toward the study.

However, before Billy left, he could not help but turned his head to take a last glance at Rachel.
