Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 544

Chapter 544

Forty minutes later, Rachel placed the soup and the main course on the dining table. After taking off her apron, Rachel went upstairs to inform David that the food was ready.

As the study’s door was ajar, David’s figure could be vaguely seen from the gap.

David was seated on the chair with a cold expression on his face as he stared at the computer in front of him.

After staring at David for a while, Rachel slowly opened the door.

When David heard the sound of the door opening, he lifted his eyes and looked at the door with a cold expression on his face. Upon seeing that it was Rachel, the coldness in his eyes immediately turned into one of warmth and gentleness.

“What are you doing up here?” David asked as he put down the file in his hands and rose quickly to his feet as he approached Rachel.

Rachel let out a smile and replied, “It’s just a small injury. I’m still able to move around.”

“Give me a moment.” David leaned over and planted a gentle kiss on Rachel’s forehead.

Rachel nodded and said, “Go ahead. There’s no need to hurry.”

Hearing their conversation, everyone who participated in the video conference had an incredulous look on their face.

“Mr. Jones actually has a woman now?” Everyone thought to themselves.

It had always been rumored that Mr. Jones was not interested in women, and he was either impotent or liked men. However, the conversation that David just had earlier had scotched the rumor.

If this matter were to spread on the island, it would definitely cause an uproar!

After all, many women were eyeing to be the wife of the Jones family patriarch.

If one knew that Mr. Jones had secretly kept a woman in his house, there was no doubt that it would cause a disturbance.

Before everyone could regain their composure, they saw that David was sitting back in front of the computer with a straight face.

With an indifferent expression on his face, David said coldly, “The meeting will end here for the time being.”

With that, David ended the video conference call.

When they arrived at the dining room, Rachel scooped up a piece of salmon and

placed it on the plate in front of David. “Try it, and tell me if it tastes good.”
