Betrayal At The Altar
Chapter 562
“What else did they say?” Olivia stared at Bertha intently. When she saw her hemming and hawing, she could not help but shout, “What else did they say? Tell me!”
Bertha looked at her with a troubled expression. After hesitating for a while, she answered, “They even asked you to leave the company’s management.”
Hearing this, Olivia felt a blow to her head. Her vision turned black, and she almost (sta gg ered).
“Olivia!” Bertha rushed forward worriedly and held her.
Olivia barely managed to stabilize herself. She held Bertha’s hand tightly. “Mom, I can’t quit the company’s management.”
This incident kept fermenting. In just an hour, she had completely lost the support of her fans and ruined her popularity. It even aroused Louis’ suspicion…
If she left the company’s management at this time, she would really have nothing.
“I know.” Bertha looked at her sorrowfully. “But the shareholders of the company threatened to withdraw their investments. Your father can’t do anything…”
At this time, Olivia completely panicked.
She knew those shareholders in the company.
A group of ruthless rice worms valued money more than their lives.
If she insisted on not quitting, it was very likely that these people would withdraw their investments.
Once the investment was withdrawn, it would be equivalent to adding insult to injury for the Cruise Group.
Olivia fell onto the sofa. Her pale face seemed to be covered with a layer of frost.
She tried her best to control herself and calm down. Suddenly, she thought of something. “I’m in charge of the two projects that the company has signed on with. If I withdraw from the company’s management, these projects will not be implemented.”
At this point, her eyes flickered. “Yes! Marina is my godmother! Once she finds out that I was chased out of the company’s management, she will definitely not let them off!”
Bertha looked at the persistent Olivia and did not know how to advise her. “Olivia…”
She gently patted Olivia’s hand. “Actually, you don’t have to be too stubborn. You know that your father let you inherit the company back then mainly to get together with the Smith family. As long as you have a deep relationship with Louis, even without the company’s support, you can still marry into the Smith family and be the young mistress of the Smith family.”
Marrying into the Smith family and becoming the young mistress of the Smith family……
Olivia kept repeating this sentence in her mind.
Previously, she had no doubts about this, but Louis’ change in attitude today made her feel uneasy as if something was out of her control.
Actually, after returning from overseas this time, she could clearly sense the changes in Louis over the past three years.
He was no longer the gentle and considerate young man from before. Now, there was a calmness and intriguing unpredictability about him.
Unknowingly, she could no longer fathom Louis’ heart.
However, she knew very well that if she didn’t want to come to the point where she was abandoned, she could only think of ways to have more.
Therefore, she could not leave the company’s management just like that!
As she was thinking, the door was suddenly pushed open.
Richard’s expression was solemn, and there was a terrifying aura around him. He said coldly, “Come to my study!”
With that, he turned around and left.
A moment later, Olivia stood in front of him.
Before she could speak. Richard spoke first. “The shareholders want you to quit management. Go to the office and pack your things after some time.”
Obviously, this matter had already been decided.
