“Let me hug you for a while.” David said. 

He buried his head in Rachel’s neck, his warm breath tickling her skin. But Rachel did not dodge. and she just let him hug her. 

She caressed David’s back and asked gently. “Can you hug me for the rest of your life?” 

David looked down at her unblinkingly. “You said it yourself.”

Before Rachel could finish speaking, she sensed a chill coming from her fingertip. 

In the dim light, a diamond ring the size of a pigeon’s egg was shining brightly. 

On the Platinum ring holder was a square diamond of high purity, as crystal clear as rock candy. It was emitting a dazzling light, like a perfect piece of art. 

What Rachel looked at the huge diamond on her ring finger, having no idea what to say. 

Tve been preparing for it for a long time. I wanted to propose to you tonight, but… David paused for 

a moment before he continued. “Anyway, it’s fine as long as the ring is on your finger.” 

Rachel stared at the diamond ring with mixed feelings. 

After a long while, she asked in a low voice, “What if What if I didn’t wake up tonight?” 

Did that mean the ring no longer belonged to her? 

If she missed the proposal and the ring tonight, it would be the biggest regret of her life.. 

After all, she had been looking forward to David proposing to her for a long time. Like any other girl. she looked forward to the ritual of marriage. 

“If I hadn’t woken up, you wouldn’t have given the ring to me, right?” Rachel asked. 

David held her hand and kissed it gently. “I thought if you woke up, I would ask for your permission, and if you didn’t wake up, I would put it on your finger directly” 

He had thought it over. If Rachel was in a coma for the rest of her life, he would put the ring on her finger and take her as his wife.
