Vivienne stood still, contemplating if she wanted to stop Xavier or to let him kill Darius so she would finally be free. She heard the guards coming since Darius’s voice was travelling outside the room.
A blood-curdling scream erupted from Darius as Xavier mercilessly dug his nails into Darius’s eye socket. The cry echoed through the halls, alarming more guards. The guards rushed towards the source of the commotion, their footsteps pounding like thunder as they raced to intervene.
Vivienne thought of her not having a son yet so should Darius somehow die here, she would be replaced as queen.
Vivienne acted fast to close the doors before the guards got to them and went to Xavier’s side before he could succeed in harming Darius even more.
Vivienne went to Xavier’s side to tug on his arm to stop him from harming Darius. Darius’s cry continued to fill the room as he covered his right eye with his hand.
"You must go, Xavier. The guards will hold you," Vivienne said, not wanting Xavier to be imprisoned.
Some guards caught a glimpse of Xavier in the room but Vivienne would do everything in her power to protect him.
Vivienne was hurt when Xavier pushed her away so he could finish the job of killing Darius. "Xavier!" She yelled. "If you kill him like this then your life won’t ever be peaceful again. His family will come after you and since they cannot get to you, they will go after her."
It pained Vivienne to have to use Selene to get Xavier to calm down. It pained her even more to see that it worked.
Xavier released Darius and got up. He wasn’t trying to kill Darius. If he wanted Darius dead, he would have been dead from the moment he got ahold of Darius. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
This was a warning. Darius’s final warning.
Xavier thought of Selene which was why he didn’t kill Darius now though he wanted to. Selene would have to remain out of sight once Darius’s family picked a fight with the Blackthorns over his death. It would be much harder for her family to get to her with so much attention on her.
Selene was the reason Xavier thought of killing Darius again but she was also the reason Darius was still alive.
"This is your last warning. Stay away from my wife and stop sending your spies. I’ll kill all of them and then you if you keep this up," Xavier warned Darius.
There was no doubt Darius was going to die. Someone as foolish as Darius didn’t have very long to live and when that time came, Xavier was going to enjoy giving Darius a slow painful death with the holy weapon he had at home.
Xavier headed toward the balcony, ignoring Darius’s screams as his body fought to heal his eye. He stopped when his hand was grabbed but was quick to pull it out of Vivienne’s hold. "Enough of this, Vivienne."
Vivienne held her right hand close to her chest. It had been so long since she got to touch him. Xavier couldn’t expect her to forget him when he was her first love.
You never forget your first.
"I just helped you. I snapped you out of killing him. Having a word with me as thanks shouldn’t be so hard," said Vivienne.
"I wasn’t trying to kill him. You must stop trying to reach out to me or you’ll join him," Xavier advised Vivienne.
