Betrayed By The Hero, Loved By The Lord novel Chapter 178

Chapter 178: Last warning (4)

Vivienne shook her head, making up her mind to be alone tonight. She was foolish to come to Darius to put forth better efforts to try for a son. Had she stayed away, Vivienne might have been fortunate to enjoy Darius losing his eye.

Instead, Vivienne ended up arguing with Darius again.

Why was it so wrong she was still infatuated with Xavier when Darius was the same way for Selene?

Vivienne walked by the guards who were puzzled. "The king doesn’t need your help. It was only having a little disagreement with a friend. Go back to your places," she ordered the guards.

Vivienne headed for her wing of the palace where she would be far away from Darius. Her night was spoiled thanks to his ungratefulness and it was about to be even more spoiled now that she spotted her father.

"Vivienne, what are you doing?" Victor asked, searching for any sign of the king. "You are meant to be with your husband. You cannot have that woman be the only one to share a bed with him today."

"I am tired therefore I want to retire to bed-"

Victor grabbed Vivienne’s hand. He was tired of her slowing down his plans, taking this as if it were a game.

Vivienne wasn’t in the mood to hear her father speak of an heir. It was all he ever spoke of which led her to believe he cared about a grandson more than his daughter.

Why didn’t he listen to what she had to endure as the queen?

Seeing him be this way, Vivienne continued to hate her father for being the reason she was stuck in the palace. He pushed her right into Darius’s arms. "The king isn’t in any position to try for a child tonight. He got into a fight with Xavier and to no surprise, he lost. Now would be a good time to take him under your wing and train him."

"That isn’t needed," Victor replied.

Victor didn’t want to make Darius harder to kill.

"Then leave me alone. Nothing will happen between me and Darius tonight. I’ve already done as you suggested to push another woman into his arms. I am going to bed alone instead of trying to seduce a man who is now officially at war with Xavier," said Vivienne.

Her father had bigger things to worry about than an heir.

Victor held onto Vivienne’s arm. "If he has started a war with Xavier then now is the time for you to act fast. Become pregnant before we lose the king. I have received word that those challenging him for the throne will start to arrive from tomorrow."

"Xavier doesn’t care about the throne so the others will join him to get rid of your husband and to remove you. I can still put up a fight if you give birth to a prince. You should have had one by now so he would be of a good age but you gave us a princess,’ said Victor.

Victor loved his granddaughter but she wasn’t of any use to him now.

Vivienne removed her father’s hand on her arm and stepped away from him. "You’re joining Darius in sounding like a human. For our kind, a prince or princess shouldn’t matter. Our power determines where we stand. I could sit on the throne as long as I show my power."

Victor didn’t have any interest in that. It was too late for Vivienne to show she was useful. "Vivienne-"

"No," Vivienne stopped her father. "There are great women in all our families who rule lands. I can rule the palace as well. Why must I torture myself to lay with him and get a prince? You underestimate me just like Darius does. That is why he never saw me as his equal though I come from an important family."

"Use me, father. Should I ever be so fortunate to lose Darius, use me instead," Vivienne suggested.
