Michael was surprised to see that Xavier joined in stabbing Vivienne. Two families might be after Xavier if they were to hear of this.
Michael started to approach Xavier since it was time for them to get out of here.
Vivienne, still standing and clinging to Xavier, was in shock that Xavier had stabbed her. It was something she could expect from Darius, but not from Xavier.
Had she hurt him so much that he would want to kill her?
Was she not his first love?
"Why?" Vivienne asked, puzzled by his betrayal. "I did nothing to you. I have only ever loved you."
"When you target my wife, that is doing something to me, and your hands were not clean. All the women you killed for having his attention. Even the ones you knew were forced to his bed. I know about your maid," Xavier revealed.
Vivienne wished to know how Xavier found out about that incident, but first, she needed to clear her name.
"I didn’t take her to his bed. He lured her there and did that. She asked me to kill her, so I did. I granted what she wanted. I did not want to kill her," Vivienne said, her head pressed against Xavier’s shoulder.
"You were not as bad as Darius, but you are far from innocent. You have killed many who were innocent, and you have changed so much that I believe you will only cause more pain to anyone here and my wife," said Xavier.
Xavier pulled the dagger out of Vivienne.
Had she not become like this, Xavier would have left her alone. She would have died only from the wound Darius made.
Vivienne smiled.
Perhaps it was better like this.
If she had lived, Vivienne didn’t know what she would have done. She hadn’t planned that far ahead.
Her father would turn his back on her since she would no longer be queen with Darius gone, and Darius’s family would come after her. Her friends were traitors, so she couldn’t rely on them. She had no one at her side.
They all either had no use for her, were dead, or betrayed her.
It was a cruel ending that left Vivienne with one regret.
"I should have gotten to Natalie first, but her child won’t be a royal. She doesn’t have Darius to protect her," Vivienne laughed.
Natalie’s plans would come to a quick end with Darius gone. With a new king coming, Natalie had no place in the palace. She would be given a home and some money for her to make the most of for the rest of her life.
Vivienne knew how Darius’s family could be, so they wouldn’t raise the child unless they showed great talents.
Vivienne’s laughter increased as she felt happy with how everything was going to end.
She frowned when Xavier stepped away from her, no longer giving her something to lean against.
