Betrayed By The Hero, Loved By The Lord novel Chapter 316

Chapter 316: Fixing past mistakes (1)

"That was an interesting meeting. Somehow, none of the extra votes I slipped in for you to be king were counted, but I am pleased with the outcome. Victor is not," Orlork said, enjoying the little outburst from Vivienne’s father.

Orlork looked around at the other unhappy families walking out of the room where they gathered. "They are only now starting to look for the princess. How didn’t her brother notice she was missing? Do you think she will return to the palace?"

"No," Xavier replied.

Morgana had found her forever home.

"Why are you following me?" Xavier asked, stopping so Orlork couldn’t follow him. "Selene and I will be very busy today, so we will not have time to entertain you. Don’t show up."

"I am only walking out with you. I have somewhere that I promised to take Jasper, and before that, I have to see your aunt. It is time for us to have a proper conversation. Must you act like you hate me? I was your beloved grandfather who helped you," said Orlork.

"I do not hate you. I hate that you show up at the wrong time. Selene and I will invite you over, so you do not need to show up unannounced. We are married, and with the town being quiet now, we want to enjoy ourselves," Xavier explained.

"I am a married man, so I know what you want. I didn’t think you would be busy at all hours of the day when I want to see you both," Orlork said, but he would keep his distance for a while.

Orlork was at the top of the Blackthorns, waiting for news of Xavier having a child. He needed to know if his lineage was getting stronger or if Xavier was just a rare case.

"I want to see my grandmother," Xavier said, getting the reaction he wanted as Orlork left his side.

Orlork took off for the home Camilla owned. He knew of it thanks to Jasper keeping watch of his children.

Orlork landed by the front door and looked around to see how many guards Camilla had, but there were very few. As a Blackthorn, she should have many guards and servants at her side.

Orlork knocked to be off to a good start.

The door was opened by Ragnar, who had come to visit Camilla.

"Father," Ragnar said, surprised. Camilla had not told him there would be a guest. "Come in."

"You’ve come to spend the day with your sister. How kind of you," Orlork said as he stepped in. "I can be satisfied with two of my children acting like they have sense. Where is your sister?"

"Packing her things," Ragnar answered.

"Why? Her family is here," Orlork said, not pleased to hear this.

"Because after I had my fangs broken, I was placed in a home far from here so I could not embarrass my family with my terrible state. I only returned because your precious son sent for me. Now it is time to go," Camilla said, walking toward the front door to send her father off.
