Eric was busy replying to his emails when his Secretary informed him that his sister was here to see him. He told her to let her in and she did.
Almost immediately, Lucia walked in. She wasn't sure what to do. She was embarrassed and guilty as hell. She was unsure as to how to face her brother.
Eric sighed and got up behind his desk. He walked to where she was standing which was a few steps away from the door. He pulled her into a hug and that was when her tears fell. "I'm sorry Eric. I'm truly sorry. Ple...please forgive me."
"It's okay Lucia. You're forgiven." He patted her back and tried to calm her down.
He guided her to a couch that was on the other side of his office. They both took their seats.
"I'm truly sorry." She whispered as she wiped her tears.
He took her hand in his, looked into her eyes and spoke. "I also have a lot of things to apologize for. I apologize for not being the elder brother who you could always count on and that is going to change from today onwards. I apologize for not paying more attention to you just like how I did to Laura and Elaina. Maybe I have a bad way of showing it but Lucia I love you and I wouldn't replace you with anyone in the world. You're amazing, brilliant and I have no doubt you'll make a difference in this world."
"Forget all I said during our last conversation. I was deeply hurt and I take responsibility for that. But trust me I didn't mean any of it. We all make mistakes Lucia, we just have to learn from it and move on."
"Thank you." She hugged him.
As soon as she pulled away from the hug, Eric reached for a gift bag which was beside the couch and handed it to her. "Annie picked them for you."
Lucia collected the bag and reached for the items in it. There was a pair of black heels, two bottles of Victoria secrets' latest fragrance and a knitted sweater.
"I feel so bad for how I treated her. God, I'm so horrible." Lucia said as another set of tears welled up in her eyes.
"Don't cry Lucia" Eric pleaded.
"She's a very nice person and all I've ever done is to hurt her."
"You've apologized to her. Haven't you?"
"Yes. I can't believe she forgave me. She has a heart of gold. Please cherish her and never let her go."
