Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon) novel Chapter 210

"I'm not gonna run around, but I need to keep an eye on work. We've received more double-sided crochet orders than artisan crochet orders, and it's making me worry. I'm doing this for my own sake too. I don't want to be embarrassed by my students' artworks."

Then, Janice clung onto Edward's arm. "Please?"

She rarely acted coquettish with him—almost never.

Her sudden move made him gulp nervously as he looked away. He relented and said, "Okay, but you need to eat your meals on time. I'll have lunch delivered to you."

"Alright."

Barbara left after serving the dishes. She excused herself, claiming that she had something else to attend to, but in truth, she didn't want to be the third wheel and make them feel awkward. Laura took over.

Once Edward and Janice were done eating, they went to their bedroom and didn't step out unless there was something they had to do.

Janice went to the bathroom to freshen up before work the next day. Alas, she was told not to have water come into contact with her wound for the next few weeks. All she could do was wipe down her body.

Edward stood a little farther from the bathroom door and asked, "Do you need help?"

Janice wanted to wash her hair, but bending down would hurt because her surgery incision was right under her chest.

She opened the bathroom door and beamed at him. "Could you get Laura to help me wash my hair?"

Edward blurted out, "I'm at your service, though."

Finally, Janice lay in the massage tub while Edward held the shower head to wash her hair.

She stared at his cold but perfectly sculpted face. He seemed to take great care of himself.

"Close your eyes. I'll give you a massage." He bent over and gently massaged her scalp.

Tearing up, she slowly closed her eyes. "Edward, thank you."

"What for?"
