Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon) novel Chapter 253

A pair of golden scissors landed right in front of Simon.

The seamstresses outside the office stepped in when they heard the commotion. When the seamstresses who had once been loyal to Simon saw him, their faces twisted with disgust.

"Ugh, why does this man have no shame?"

"No shame? That's putting it lightly! I walked past the office earlier and heard him demanding compensation from Ms. Smith for wasting several years of his life. I even recorded it. It's revolting!"

"He's the type who only knows to leech off others. Why won't he just drop dead?"

"Ms. Smith's career is just taking off, and now, this parasite is trying to drag her down. What bad luck!"

"Mr. Moore happens to be on a business trip too. The timing…"

Janice stepped closer to Simon.

One of the bodyguards picked up the scissors, but she took them instead. She shoved the scissors into Simon's hand, her voice chillingly calm. "I won't deny that I owe your family a life. So, do it. Stab me right here."

Her cold, unwavering eyes bore into him. "If I die, then that's fate. But if I survive, from this moment on, my family will owe yours nothing."

Simon was shocked.

Janice grabbed his wrist and pressed the sharp tip of the scissors against her chest, right where her heart was.

She was wearing a white sweater, and a small red stain started to bloom across the fabric.

The bodyguards panicked, immediately stepping in to separate them.

Simon recoiled, flinging the scissors away. "You…"

Janice didn't blink.

"Debt is repaid with money; a life is repaid with a life. My brother is still a student, so I'll repay this favor for him."

The Fitzgeralds stood there, utterly stunned. They opened their mouths, but not a single word came out.

"What's wrong? Are you chickening out?" Janice took another step forward. "I'm standing right here, ready to give you what you want. And now, you don't want it?"

Of course, they wouldn't want her dead. If she died, how were they supposed to keep milking her?

Janice laughed. "Call the police. Tell them someone came to collect a life debt. Let's have them witness this properly."

The Fitzgeralds' faces drained of color. That wouldn't do!

"No! You can't call the police!" Simon lunged, trying to snatch the phone from Janice's secretary.
