As Calvin strolled unhurriedly toward the cafeteria, his phone rang midway. 

It was a call from Barbara. He answered, “Mom”

“I’m not sure yet, but Edward doesn’t lie. If he says so, It’s probably true,” Gavin replied in defense of Edward,

If there’s anything going on between him and this woman named Janice Smith” 

“Mom, are you biased became of the rumored lady’s background?” Galvin teased. 

Barbara paused briefly before replying, “It’s not that. Let’s talk after you’ve found out.” 

After hanging up, Calvin immediately texted Edward “Mom knows about the rumors between you and the woman named Janice Smith. She doesn’t seem happy. Handle it” 

When Janke took a seat with her inch tray, there was a commation in the cafeteria. 

“Mr. Moore.” 

“Afternoon, Mr. Moore.” 

Edward strode past her without sparing a plance and responded to the greetings with a quiet nod 

Employees of Prosper Stitch Group were surprised. Why was Edward having inch in the employee cafeteria? 

Harrison trailed behind Edward and carried a tray. The cafeteria staff, suddenly cured of their shaky hands, piled the tray with a variety of dishes 

When Harrison placed the tray on the seat across from Janice, she looked up in shock. 

Around her, all eyes were glued to them, witnessing as Edward calmly took the seat before her. Edward was having lunch with Janice? In the cafetena? 

The difference between the amounts of food on their trays didn’t escape Edward’s notice. He glanced at Harrison, who imediately sprang into action. “One moment, Ms. Smith,” He picked up her tray and returned shortly with a more generous spread. 

“I can’t eat all this,” jane protested. 

“It’s still too little” Edward picked up his cutlery and started eating in silence to keep her company. 

“You’re eating in the cafeteria she whispered, glancing nervously at all the intrigued eyes around them The employee group chat buzzed in shock. 

“Mr. Moore is lowering himself to dine with Ms. Smith!” 

Could the rumors about someone spotting them arm–in–arm at an exhibition in Gallandia last month be true? 

“you’re here, aren’t you? Eating with my girlfriend is perfectly normal,” Edward said matter–of–factly. 

Janice blinked “oh” She had almost forgotten about their couple act to appease his family, 

As Calvin walked by, he gave her a curious glance, but Edward pretended not to have seen him. Without bothering to greet Calvin, he grabbed Janice’s hand and left once she was done with her meal. 

They were holding hands! An employee snapped a photo and uploaded it to the largest employee group chat of Prosper Stitch Group.

“That man earlier is my elder brother. My mom will probably have him investigate our relationship, so it’s better for us to put on a convincing act 

After entering the elevator, Edward released her. Janice thought no more and assumed that he was probably being too cautious. 

So, the man she had bumped into was his brother? 

“Do you have plans tonight? Edward asked. 

“I need to pick up my cousin,” Janice replied. 

Would you like me to come with you? 

“No need,” Janice replied as she avoided his gaze. 

Edward stared at her for a moment before stepping out of the elevators. They parted ways and headed to separate offices. 

As Edward walked, he made a call to the National Crochet Union. 

“What can we do for you, Mr. Moore? the man on the other end inquired with a respectful toor.
