Yvonne showed no trace of fear toward Simon.
In the past, she might’ve respected him as her boss, but her disdain for him grew after what he’d done to Janice. She’d been waiting to do this confrontation for a long time now
Simon was visibly furious. He pointed et Yvonne and snarled, “You ungrateful traitor! Have you forgotten who paid your salary all these years? What has Janice ever given you? I’ve always been in charge of all your salaries!
“She’s just a sweet–talker who fools you all into believing her nonsense!“.
Yvonne snapped back, “We’d rather be fooled by Ms. Smith than be deceived by people like you, who don’t care about his employees!”
After gathering her belongings, she continued, “I’ve been with Refined Threads Co. since day one, Sumon I’ve watched you go from being sincere and down–to–earth to the superficial and money–driven person you are today. It’s clear as day to anyone.”
Her words caused the newly recruited seamstresses to exchange uneasy glances. Though many hadn’t made the cut at Melody & Loops Creations, they’d still want to work under a virtuous leader.
From Yvonne’s accusations, they could tell that Simon owed Janior greatly. If he could abandon a founding member like her, to him they might just be disposable tools to make
money
“What exactly did Janice promise you to smear Refined Threads Co, and tamish my name? Simon refused to acknowledge any shortcomings. He didn’t think he had any either.
Yvonne smirked. “She promised me nothing. In fact, I don’t even know what salary I’ll be offered to work under her, but I trust her.
“I’m willing to stay by her side even if the pay is low. I believe she’ll fight for fair compensation for us if given the chance.”
Another seamstress interjected, “And that’s the difference.”
Faced with the crowd of loyal seamstresses standing by Jancle, Simon wanted to lash out but found himself powerless. It was all Janice’s fault!
“Get lost, all of you! I refuse to believe Janice can offer you better conditions than Refined Threads Co.! She has no authority in Prosper Stitch Group, don’t you understand that? She’s just trying to turn you all against me!”
As the seamstresses filed out following Yvonne, Simon was so enraged that he could hardly breathe. “You. You’d better not come crawling back!”
He punched the wall in frustration.
Once the seamstresses were gone, he stormed back to his office and called Heidi, “Ms. Ryan, the seamstresses have gone to Janice! She’s peaching my people!”
Heidi raised an eyebrow. Going to Janice? Was Janice abusing her position to bring her people into Prosper Stitch Group?
Interesting. This gave her more reason to file a complaint
“Don’t worry about the seamstresses. It won’t be hard for us to hire new ones if we have enough money,” Heidi said dismissively.
“Over 200 seamstresses have left, Ms. Ryan. How am I supposed to fulfill my crochet orders? skilled seamstresses in the country are either with Melody & Loops Creations or Refined Threads Co. It’s not easy to recruit them.”
“Just raise the salaries.”
