While the dinner stirred different thoughts among everyone, the news of Edward having a girlfriend quickly spread throughout the capital’s elite circles.
Barbara, who had been temporarily working in Greenfield City, spent the entire evening answering calls about the matter.
After the meal, Janke walked out of the private room with Edward. Heldt had already left and was standing by the stairway, talking on the phone. On the other end, her mother, Emma Brown, was telling her that the entire upper crust of the capital knew by now that award had a girltrend.
Perhaps out of jealousy, Heidi goby shifted her left foot while Janice stood at the stab way. As Janice lifted her foot to descend, her heel unexpectedly caught on something. casing her to lose her balance and stumble down the stains.
It all happened so quickly that she didn’t even have time to scream.
Since she was holding onto Edward’s arm, he immediately sensed she had lost control
Mark frowned. “Janice!”
In that very instant, Edward swiftly descended the stairs and grabbed panice by the sleeve other rear, pulling her back up to steady her.
Janor gasped for air and held onto Edward’s arm to steady herself.
Everyone else hurried down the stairs to check on them, but only Edward looked back. His sharp gaze pierced through Heldi’s false concern, seeing right through her act and onto bet guilt.
Heidi hastly hung up the phone and pretended to ask, “Are you alright?”
No one responded to her question
By the time they excited the restaurant, the cold wind had become even more biting.
“Ms. Smith, be careful while walking. You don’t want to make Edward worry,” Heidi said, feigning concern.
Mark gave her a brief glance but didn’t say anything.
Janice pased. Under everyone’s curious gazes, she took a step back, turned around, and slapped Heidi
The slap was so sudden that it left everyone speechless.
Bedi couldn’t believe that Janke had the audacity to slap her.
The others were stunned, but Edward remained in place, lighting a cigarette and chatting casually with Mark as though nothing had happened.
“How dare you.” Held asked in disbelief.
Jeshot Heldia cold look “If you have the ability, try beating me in the professional field. Keep pulling these childish and ridiculous moves to hurt me, and I break your legs. If you don’t believe me, try it”
Heidi burst into tears, pretending to be the victim. She denied everything, “Ms. Smith, 1 have no bad blood with you! Why are you targeting me like this? Just because you’re scared, you can’t just accuse me I was only showing concem…”
