Mark turned and got into the car. “She’s not Shirley.”

Edward was holding her wrist, inspecting her palm.
“Your palm is all red, but Helli’s lace kn’t swollen,” he remarkid.
Janice blinked, wondering if he was being sarcastic.
Echward smirked. “I just shows how thick–skinned Heidi is.”
Janice pursed her lips. “So, you and Heidi are…
“There’s nothing betwem us,” Edward replied bluntly. “She practically grew up in my house, but I turned her down when we got older. She’s a master at guilt–tripping, but her grandather is close to my father.”

Janice didn’t get a direct response to this question, leaving her a bit uneasy when she returned home.
She hoped she hadn’t truly offended Edward. After all, Heidi was someone he had known since childhood. Before Janice could figure out how to apologize, it was already the day before the winter finals
That day, Barbarexpectedly asked Edward to bring ance to where she was staying in Greenfield City. Edward called ber. “Are you home?“”
