On the flip side, he genuinely believed that Grace’s legs and life were going to be saved. 

Little did Elaine know that Harlan was a huge fan of Dr. Freya 

Considering g all the things Harlan had done to her, Elaine couldn’t help but wonder how he’d react if he found out that Dr. Freya–the person he admired—was actually his sister, the one he loathed and the very person the Yeats family couldn’t stand 

Elaine couldn’t help but smile wryly. This thought got her excited. It was all so ridiculous–drama was everywhere. 

Kingsley noticed her smile and seemed to get a little lost in thought. 

“Thanks, Dr. Years,” he said, meeting her gaze. That smile of hers turned sweeter, lighting up the room. 

“Mr. Morgan, just wait outside for my good news,” she said. 

Kingsley looked at her bright smile and replied in a low, smooth voice, “Sure. I’ll be right here 

At that moment, he had no clue that this young woman would pull him out of his seemingly endless pit of despair. Her smile was like the sun cutting through his darkness 

Elaine watched Kingsley’s shift in mood and remembered how cold and detached he had been with everyone else just a minute before. Now, he seemed like a gentle big dog–what a contrast! 

Grace’s leg issues were pretty serious, but the bigger problem was her several underlying medical conditions, which had led to heart, lung, and kidney failures during her hospital stay.

Everyone in the room stared at Elaine in disbelief. It was like she had worked some sort of miracle, bringing someone back from the dead. Her skills were just mind–blowing. 

“How is this even possible” they whispered, chills running up

But for Elaine, this was all in a day’s work. No matter how dire the situation, if a patient came through her hands, they stood a chance at life. That’s just who Freya was

With Grace’s leg saved and all her vital signs looking good. Kingsley felt the tension ease as he watched Grace being wheeled out. 

Elaine knew how important Grace was to Kingsley. She would definitely have his back in keeping Grace around. 

Kingsley gulped, managing a soft “Thanks,” 

Elaine smiled and replied. “Anytime.“ 

As he got lost in the depths of her beautiful, expressive eyes, it felt like Elaine had just walked into his world out of nowhere, like their meeting was meant to be. 

After switching out of her scrubs. Elaine headed toward the door but accidentally bumped into Harlan, who had rushed over to meet Freys.

Harlan probably wouldn’t have guessed that Freya was actually Elaine. It was ridiculous to think that only a few months ago, he’d texted her to scold her for being mean, claiming she was targeting Bianca–who he thought was simply better in every way.
