Chapter 0199
Chapter 0199
Her words “Then die“. were cold and absolute.
Everyone present could see that Suzy was done with Dylan. If she had even a trace of lingering feelings, she wouldn’t have said those words so easily and decisively.
But Dylan didn’t believe it, not for a second.
He stepped forward, tall and determined, closing the distance between them until he was just inches away. His intense gaze locked onto her. “Are you sure?”
In response, Suzy reached over to the fruit tray, picked up a paring knife, and tossed it at his feet. “The real question is, can you actually do it?”
Dylan looked down at the knife, his expression darkening. He bent to pick it up and asked her once more, “Do you truly want me dead?”
“Why the talk?” Suzy’s tone was laced with impatience. “If you’re going to do it, then do it. If not, stop putting on a show.”
Dylan’s grip on the knife tightened, but then he turned the handle toward her. “If you really want my life, you’ll have to take it yourself.”
He was convinced that, despite everything, she still felt something for him–that she wouldn’t actually have the heart to go through with it. This was just her holding onto the past, bitter over the way he’d treated her for those three years.
The thought had barely settled when Suzy took the knife from him, pointed it at his chest, and said calmly, “Since that’s your request, I won’t hold back.”
She started to drive the knife toward his heart.
“Miss Frost…” Desmond stepped forward, summoning the courage to intervene. “Let’s not let things get so heated. There’s no need for this.”
“Heated?” Suzy shot him a look. “When was there ever anything like that between us?”
She turned back to Dylan, her voice icy. “Out of respect for Grandma and Diana, I’ll let this go. But from now on, let’s keep our lives separate. Take your gifts and get out of my sight.”
Looking at her cold expression, her eyes filled with nothing but impatience, Dylan finally understood she truly didn’t love him anymore. This wasn’t anger or some momentary flare–up. It was the reality he’d refused to accept: she’d genuinely stopped loving him.
The realization struck like a blow, leaving Dylan feeling as if his heart was being crushed.
Suzy had said similar things before, but back then, Dylan had dismissed it, convinced that her love wouldn’t vanish so easily. After all, she’d loved him for three years; even after a divorce, those feelings wouldn’t just disappear overnight… or so he’d thought.
