Allen carried a red velvet box as he approached Anne. Midway down the aisle, he stumbled, and the box slipped from his hands, spilling its contents onto the floor. 

Photographs scattered everywhere. Those close enough bent down to pick them up, curiosity piqued.

“On purpose? My leg hurt, that’s all,” Allen retorted innocently. “Haven’t you ever tripped before? Or were all your stumbles intentional, too?” 

He shook his head dramatically. “Honestly, you’ve only got yourself to blame. Ever heard the saying, ‘What’s done in the dark always comes to light‘? If you hadn’t been up to anything shady, there wouldn’t be any photos to begin with. Am I right, everyone?” 

“Exactly! She does something so disgraceful and still has the audacity to blame others!”
