When they finally met, Charlotte had done nothing but cry and lament, claiming Suzy was closing in on the truth about her being the killer. Every word dripped with desperation, designed to evoke Ruby’s sympathy.
The more Ruby thought about it, the paler her face became.
“What are you standing there for? Our boss told you to leave. Don’t waste her generosity!” Allen’s impatient tone snapped Ruby out of her spiraling thoughts.
So, Suzy really intended to let her leave? It wasn’t just a ploy to get her to slip up?
Ruby didn’t waste time. She left Hillside Villa as quickly as she could, though the confusion gnawed at her.
Unbeknownst to her, Suzy had turned to Riley as soon as Ruby stepped out.
“Follow her.”
As Suzy predicted, Ruby attempted to contact Charlotte as soon as she left the villa. Yet, her suspicions about Suzy’s sharp mind made her hesitate. What if it was a trap? She waited a few days before finally trying to call Charlotte in secret, using multiple numbers to no avail.
Each call went unanswered.
Was Charlotte intentionally ignoring her? Or was she too afraid of being caught?
Ruby convinced herself to wait, holding out hope that Charlotte would find another way to respond. Yet, two more days passed, and there was still no word from her sister.
Could it be true? Had Charlotte abandoned her, even after all they’d shared?
“No, it can’t be like that!” Ruby muttered to herself, trying to stave off the creeping doubt. “Suzy’s just trying to sow discord. I can’t fall for it.”
She clung to the belief that Charlotte, her only remaining family in the world, wouldn’t leave her behind. Charlotte must have been forced into silence, unable to act freely.
But as the days dragged on, Ruby’s composure began to crumble. Her breaking point came when she heard devastating news: Mark and Tanya had died in a car crash.
According to reports, the two had tried to flee, only to lose control on a mountain road. Their car plummeted off a cliff, killing them both instantly.
Even if Mark and Tanya had only been pawns, they were still Charlotte’s family.
Especially Tanya–her own daughter–and yet, Charlotte hadn’t shown even the slightest concern. If she could be so cold toward her own flesh and blood, how could she possibly care about a distant sister she hadn’t spoken to in years?

Chapter 0332
“Suzy was right,” Ruby murmured to herself, bitterness creeping into her voice. “If she truly cared, she wouldn’t have sent me to my death.”
To Charlotte, Ruby, Tanya, and Mark were not family–they were pawns to be used. Now that they had outlived their usefulness, their lives meant nothing to her.
