“After all these years, I didn’t gain much, but at least I became a decent cook.” 

Suzy didn’t hold back her agreement. “Alright.” 

Watching Nadia walk away, Suzy turned and left as well. She spent the next two days focused on developing the antidote. 

During that time, Dylan hadn’t called her even once. It seemed like a small thing, but Suzy couldn’t shake a fleeting sense of unease–was it really fine to leave him unchecked? Still, the lack of any alarming signs suggested the Nightdew Pill was doing its job. 

With that reassurance, she felt more at ease. 

What Suzy hadn’t anticipated was a call from Diana on the third evening. 

“Suzy, come quickly! Something’s happened to my brother!” Diana’s voice was frantic, and from her tone, it was clear this was serious. 

Without a second thought, Suzy grabbed her keys and drove straight to the Wright family’s 

estate. 

As soon as she walked through the door, she was met with Grace and Diana, both visibly distressed and waiting anxiously in the foyer. 

Suzy hurried over. “Grandma, Diana, what happened to Dylan?” 

Grace’s eyes were filled with tears. “I don’t know. Everything was fine during dinner, and then suddenly… he started coughing up blood.” 

Diana, equally distraught, was sobbing. “Yes, he just started vomiting so much blood that the blood nearly got onto my face. Suzy, is my brother seriously ill?” 

Recalling Dylan’s instructions to keep them from worrying, Suzy forced herself to stay calm. “No, it’s likely a reaction from his previous injuries. Don’t worry, I’ll check on him.” She didn’t wait for a response and quickly made her way upstairs. 

Reaching Dylan’s room, she tried to open the door, but it wouldn’t budge. Knocking firmly, she called out, “Dylan, it’s me. Open the door!” 

The silence from inside stretched too long. Fearing he might have lost consciousness, Suzy turned back to Grace. “Do you have a spare key?” 

“Yes, yes! I’ll have the butler get it right away,” Grace replied, her worry deepening. 

Moments later, the butler returned with the spare key. 

When Suzy unlocked the door and stepped inside, she found Dylan collapsed on the floor beside the bed.

Seeing him like that, Grace and Diana, who had followed close behind, both cried out in alarm, their panic escalating as they rushed to his side. 

Both Grace and Diana looked pale, especially Grace, whose hands were trembling. “Suzy, you have to save him. Please.” 

“Don’t worry, Grandma. He’ll be fine. I’ll make sure of it. But for now, you and Diana should step out so I can examine him properly.” 

The two hesitated for a moment before reluctantly leaving the room. Suzy followed them to the door, closed it behind them, and returned to Dylan’s side.
