Chapter 0401
When it came to being oblivious to romantic cues, Suzy could easily claim the top spot–no competition needed.
Under normal circumstances, Dylan should have been left speechless by her lack of response. But, true to form, he seized the moment. “I know. That’s why I need to tell you what I truly feel before it’s too late.”
Suzy glanced at him, unimpressed, and said nothing, resuming the delicate work of the treatment. When in doubt, ignoring him was always the safest bet.
After about twenty minutes of careful effort, Dylan’s condition finally stabilized. His pallor eased, and he looked significantly better.
Straightening up, Suzy stood at his bedside, looking down at him. “How do you feel now?”
Dylan, still weak, seemed as fragile as porcelain, his voice soft as he replied, “Better. I didn’t want to bother you, but I ended up dragging you here in the middle of the night anyway…”
“Alright, if you’re too tired to talk, then close your eyes and rest. Save your breath for something that matters.”
“Okay.”
To her surprise, Dylan complied without hesitation, shutting his eyes as though her words
were law.
Suzy stared at him for a moment, speechless.
Without another word, she packed up her tools and prepared to leave, but just as she turned, her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
Startled, she looked back.
Dylan’s eyes were still closed, his expression pained, as though trapped in a nightmare.
“Suzy, go. Don’t worry about me–just leave…” His voice was faint, pleading, but his grip on her hand was firm, refusing to let go. His face twisted with visible distress.
“Dylan…” Suzy called to him softly, but he didn’t respond.
She tried again, louder this time, yet he remained unresponsive, trapped in whatever terror consumed him.
“Dylan!” Suzy raised her voice and pinched his palm sharply.
The jolt of pain finally pulled him from the nightmare. His bloodshot eyes snapped open, and for a moment, he stared at her, as though trying to confirm whether she was real or a

figment of his imagination.
Once he was sure, he sat up with sudden intensity, pulling her into his arms. Holding her tightly, he murmured in a trembling voice, “Thank God you’re okay.”
Suzy felt incredibly awkward in his embrace, though she made an effort not to show it. ” You were just dreaming. It’s over now. Go back to sleep.”
Dylan still didn’t let go. “It wasn’t just any dream. I dreamed that Claude turned into a vengeful ghost, coming after me for revenge. He said I stole everything from him, even his life, and then he killed you, too.”
As he spoke, his body trembled, a clear sign of how deeply the nightmare had shaken him. But what truly terrified him wasn’t his own fate–it was the part where Suzy was killed.
