Chapter 0046
Desmond stepped in, saying, “Mr. Wright and Mr. Claude are not close.”
Julian scoffed, refusing to believe it.
“Not close? Dylan Wright, you’ve always been a man of profit, never doing anything that doesn’t serve your own interests. You may act like you’re helping Claude, but in reality, it’s all for yourself.
“Once the Harlow family business falls into this cripple’s hands, do you really think he
could stand against you? Ashbourne City would be yours for the taking. Your plan is flawless!”
Dylan didn’t bother defending himself. Instead, he calmly asked Matthew, “Mr. Matthew, is that what you believe as well?”
His expression and tone were composed, but Matthew, who knew Dylan well, recognized this as a sign of his true anger.
Matthew walked over and yanked Julian aside, delivering a sharp slap across his face. “You ungrateful fool! All these years, I’ve trusted you without question, never doubting you for a second, and this is what you are a snake with nothing but selfish ambition.”
“Dad, please don’t listen to these lies-
“Shut up!” Matthew barked before turning to the butler. “Lock him up!”
In the Harlow family’s garden, Claude sat across from Dylan and personally poured him a cup of tea. With a curious look, he finally voiced the question that had been weighing on his mind. “I have to ask, why did you help me?”
Before now, Claude and Dylan had no real connection, and he couldn’t figure out why Dylan would go out of his way to help him. Could Julian have been right after all?
Dylan sipped his tea, then met Claude’s gaze and asked, “Do you really think you’re no match for me?”
Claude paused for a moment, then chuckled. “Well, in that case, I’ll have to find an opportunity to test that out.”
“Anytime,” Dylan replied with a faint smile.
The truth was that Dylan had always admired Claude. Despite his physical limitations, he was strong–willed and highly capable.
Without much hesitation, Dylan revealed the truth. “Actually, I’m helping on behalf of someone else.”

“Could you tell me who?” Claude asked, intrigued. “I should know who my real benefactor is so I can thank them properly if I ever get the chance.”
Dylan’s eyes locked onto Claude’s, and he spoke softly, “Red Falcon.”
Claude’s expression shifted for a brief moment as if he’d expected it. No one else would this far for him but Suzy.
He quickly masked his reaction, pretending to be confused. “Red Falcon?”
The relationship between Suzy and Claude couldn’t be known by anyone–not for any other reason but to protect her true identity.
“You don’t know her?” Dylan asked with a hint of amusement in his voice.
“No, I don’t.”
“Heh…” Dylan chuckled. “That’s interesting–someone you’ve never met going to such lengths to help you.”
