Chapter 0047
The real issue wasn’t just bumping into Dylan it was that he had already noticed her.
She should’ve waited a bit longer, at least until he had fully left the Harlow estate.
A miscalculation, indeed.
But regret wasn’t the priority.

She needed to come up with a reasonable excuse–fast.
Dylan’s steps were quick, but Suzy’s mind worked even faster. Just before he could say anything, she politely nodded and greeted him “Mr. Wright, what a coincidence!”
Her greeting caught Dylan off guard. After all, she had once told him that after their divorce, even if they crossed paths, they should act like strangers.
A slight smile tugged at his lips, though there was no warmth in his eyes. “Quite the coincidence.”
Before they could continue, the Harlow family’s butler stepped forward, stopping Dylan. He informed him that Benjamin had something else to discuss.
Dylan hadn’t walked far from the study, which was near the garden. He hadn’t expected to run into her here of all places.
So, it had been her that night–the one
who had purposely avoided him. Her familiarity with the Harlow estate made it obvious there was more between her and Claude than she. had ever let on over the past three years.
Dylan’s words held a hidden meaning, and Suzy caught it.
Her gaze flickered slightly before she turned to Claude with the composed tone of an employee addressing a boss. “Mr. Claude, Mr. Wright was my previous employer. I worked as his housekeeper for three years.”
Dylan was speechless.
She had offered an explanation, but not to him.
She clearly cared about Claude, or why else would she go out of her way to hide her past?
Claude, no fool, had already sensed the tension between Suzy and Dylan. But he played along, replying with a casual smile, “Ah, I see. Seems like Mr. Wright and I are more connected than I thought.”
Dylan’s sharp gaze flickered between the two of them, a knowing smile on his face.” Indeed, quite a connection.”
Though his words were directed at Claude, his eyes remained fixed on Suzy.

Chapter 0047
Suzy held his gaze without flinching. After all, housekeeper” was the title Dylan had once given her himself.
In truth, Suzy had no intention of greeting Dylan. If she could, she would’ve ignored his presence entirely.
But…
Despite his physical limitations, Claude’s sharp eyes missed nothing. Under his watchful gaze, there was no way she could pretend not to know Dylan–it would be impossible to fool someone as perceptive as him.
And she absolutely wouldn’t let Claude find out that she and Dylan had once been married.
She broke eye contact with Dylan and moved behind Claude’s wheelchair. “Mr. Claude, the wind is picking up. Shall I take you inside?”
Claude glanced back at her before turning to Dylan. “Mr. Wright, I’ll excuse myself for now.
Suzy was just about to push Clande away when Dylan’s voice, soft yet authoritative, stopped her in her tracks.
“How about letting the butler take Mr. Claude back? I’d like to catch up with Miss Frost.”
