Evangeline’s serious expression softened at his explanation. “How thoughtful of you, General Wright! It’s late, so why not stay here tonight? I’ll have someone prepare a room for you immediately.” 

Dylan didn’t hesitate. “I appreciate your hospitality.”

“I was just worried about you.” 

“Thanks for your concern!” Suzy snapped, her tone growing harsher. “But you should worry about yourself instead. You’re the leader of the Yellowtail Squadron, sneaking off to meet Xandria’s head of state in the dead of night. Aren’t you afraid of how that might be perceived?”
