“Jealous?” Dylan questioned himself, though he already knew the answer. His lips twisted into a mocking smile. “You’re just an ex–wife. Do you really think that’s even possible?”

Before leaving, she shot him a faint smile. “And Mr. Wright, I’d advise you to keep certain things to yourself when it comes to Mr. Claude. Otherwise, if I lose my job, I just might seek comfort from Miss Anne.” 

In Claude’s room, Suzy sat across from him on the sofa, expecting him to have a few questions. 

But as she nearly finished her coffee, he hadn’t asked a single thing about Dylan. Instead, his main concern was…

What she had said in the garden earlier wasn’t just for the sake of appeasing Dylan. As much as Claude worried about her, she worried about him too. He was the only family she had left. 

As Claude had just pointed out, Julian, who’d dared to act against his own brother even in their youth, wouldn’t be so easy to handle now

Through tear–filled eyes, Suzy looked at him, her voice hoarse. “No. Whether it’s the Harlow family or Harlow Corporation, there will be challenges if you take it on, and I have to stay to help.”
