Chapter 0050
She had her reasons for keeping her relationship with Dylan under wraps. If she didn’t want to explain, he wouldn’t press.
That night, Allen slipped in discreetly to deliver her things, voicing his disapproval. “Even if you want to protect Claude, do you really need to do it personally? Why not let Riley, Raven, or Avalon take care of it?”
Suzy, lying on the bed with her legs crossed, shot him a sidelong glance. “The clothes you’ve brought are enough for now, but I still need a few more medical books. There’s no rush, though.
Understanding her temperament, Allen knew that once her mind was set, nothing could change it. Though dissatisfied, he refrained from arguing further. After helping her organize her belongings, he prepared to leave. Just as he reached the door, his phone rang. It was Desmond.
After ending the call, Allen relayed the message to Suzy, “Dylan’s asking. He says he’s done his part–when will you fulfill your promise?”
Suzy yawned. “Tell him to check if Anne’s even willing to go through with the treatment.”
The last thing she wanted was a repeat of that frustrating situation.
Dylan, too, had sensed Anne’s reluctance. After Desmond reported back, he went to the hospital himself. To his surprise, after barely broaching the topic, Anne immediately agreed. “Alright, Mr. Dylan, just arrange a time with her.”
He looked at her. “You’re really okay with this?”
Anne nodded sweetly. “I need to recover as soon as possible so you don’t have to worry about me anymore.”
“Then I’ll set up the appointment.”
“Alright!”

But when the day arrived, Anne was nowhere to be found.
They searched every possible location–the hospital, the Wheeler estate–but there was no trace of her. When someone was determined to hide, they were indeed difficult to track down.
In a secluded villa on the outskirts of town…
“Oh, that feels so good… harder…”

Anne lay beneath the man, her skin flushed with a rosy hue.
It was hard to keep track of how many rounds they’d had; nearly five hours had passed since they’d started, and only now did the pent–up heat within Anne finally begin to fade.
Afterward, Anne leaned against the headboard, letting the man light her a cigarette. Taking a deep drag and exhaling in satisfaction, she murmured, “I have to admit, this Scarlet Veil is potent… that was damn incredible.”
Too bad she didn’t get to sleep with Dylan.
If it had been him, she knew it would’ve been even better.
The man beside her caught the slight sigh that slipped from her and grasped her chin, locking eyes with her still–dazed gaze. “What’s this? A bit disappointed because I’m not Dylan?”
Anne rolled her eyes, swatting his hand away. “Cut the crap. Three days have passed already–where’s Suzy’s body?”
The man’s face darkened with frustration. “Are you sure that woman’s just some ordinary orphan with no connections? Same as last time, she’s nowhere to be found. Killing her is out of the question if we can’t even locate her.”
