Leaning close to his ear, Suzy softly called out, “Elliot Hayes, it’s me, your mentor. If you can hear my voice, open your eyes and look at me…”
Before anything could happen, the person posing as Diana spoke up. “Don’t waste your energy. He can’t hear you at all!
“Suzy, you’re not as powerful as you think. Your hypnosis skills are nothing compared to a certain someone’s.”
“A certain someone?” Suzy turned to look at her, her gaze sharp.
“Let me guess. This ‘certain someone’ is none other than Charlotte Wright, isn’t it? The woman who’s somehow survived dying twice and still refuses to stay dead?”
“You…” Diana’s expression flickered for a moment before she quickly recovered.
“Who it is or isn’t, I’m not going to tell you. When the time comes, you’ll find out on your own but not now.”
That brief flicker in Diana’s expression didn’t escape Suzy’s notice. Could Charlotte really still be alive?
If that were true, then the woman standing before her might truly be Diana.
Her sudden change in personality could easily be Charlotte’s doing—either through hypnosis or manipulation.
And if Charlotte was still alive, then…
Suzy’s thoughts were interrupted when Diana’s expression darkened. “Suzy, if you want Elliot to wake up, it’s simple. Kill yourself in front of me, and I’ll lift the hypnosis.”
With that, Diana tossed a sharp knife onto the floor in front of Suzy.
“My patience is limited. You’ve got three minutes. If you don’t do as I say within that time, Elliot will remain a living corpse for the rest of his life.”
"You’re the one who caused me to end up like this, and yet they don’t blame you at all. Especially my brother. He insists on being with you, even at the expense of me and Grandma!”
As Diana spoke, her eyes burned with pure hatred. The way she looked at Suzy was like a blade poised to strike, as though she wanted to tear Suzy apart right then and there.
“But the danger around you is endless, one thing after another, and we never know when we might get dragged into it. My brother and Grandma will never be safe as long as you’re alive. So, if you die, only then can we have peace!”
Suzy listened, her expression unreadable, before quietly murmuring, “So that’s it.”
“Exactly,” Diana said with a sneer. “Do you think I’d hate you for no reason? Hurry up and die already! Stop dragging everyone else down!”
Suzy looked at the woman in front of her, brimming with a murderous hatred, and slowly bent down to pick up the knife from the floor.
She gripped it tightly in her hand, her voice calm. “You’re right. If all I’m doing is dragging others down, then maybe it’s time to end it all.”
