The air was thick with an overpowering aphrodisiac, and even though Suzy and Elliot tried to hold their breath, they inevitably inhaled some of it.
The effects showed up faster in Elliot than in Suzy.
At first, he clenched his fists tightly, trying to keep himself under control.
But soon, his eyes began to lose focus, and his movements became erratic.
Even after Suzy gave him the Elixir of Purification immediately, it wasn’t enough to counteract the drug.
The person behind this clearly knew her too well. They’d planned for her antidote by crafting a drug that was resistant to it.
“Mentor… I can’t take it. I really can’t take it…” Elliot’s voice was strained with desperation as he clawed at his shirt, tearing it off entirely.
“Elliot, you have to fight this!” Suzy urged, backing away to maintain some distance.
“Clear your mind. Don’t think about anything!”
“I can’t… I can’t stop thinking…” Elliot staggered toward her, his breath ragged.
“You’re not just my mentor; you’re the woman I love most. Being locked in here with you—forget the drug—even without it, I wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about you!”
“You cannot think like that!” Suzy’s voice rose in intensity.
“Elliot, stay where you are! Don’t come any closer!”
“I don’t want to, but I can’t control myself, Mentor… I can’t…” His voice cracked, raw with anguish.
“It feels like my whole body is crawling with insects. I’m burning up. I’m begging you, help me…”
“Well, look at how much your poor apprentice is suffering,” the voice mocked gleefully, echoing through the room.
“He’s your one and only apprentice, isn’t he? How can you bear to see him in such pain?”
