Suzy smirked, a glint of mischief in her eyes. “If you’re that worried about the money, then take the job. It’s not like you don’t know how.” 

Allen chuckled. “And you’re not afraid I’ll ruin your reputation?” 

She shrugged. “I don’t care. I’ve got plenty more where that came from.” 

“Alright, then!” A flash of something dark lit up Allen’s gaze. “I’ll make sure to have some fun with that little brat.” 

Suzy raised an eyebrow. “Just don’t go overboard.” 

Allen gave her an OK sign. “The arrangements for tomorrow’s bidding conference are all set, just as you asked. Even the Goodwins took the bait.” 

Suzy’s eyes narrowed. “We’ve cast the net for a long time. Let’s see if we can catch a big fish this time.” 

At the Wright Corporation’s new project bidding conference, Suzy attended alongside Claude as his personal caregiver. 

Ashbourne City’s elite were out in full force, though few were truly there to bid. With the project being a new venture, most were hesitant to take the risk. 

The Goodwins had been hesitant too, partly because of the risk and partly due to their political ties, which didn’t align with the project’s scope. But with the right bait, they’d finally been drawn in.
