Watching the two go back and forth, Evangeline couldn't help but chuckle.
"Alright, you two, how old are you? Still bickering like children. If this was just a misunderstanding, let’s drop it."
She then shot Helena a slightly disapproving look.
"Seriously, sis, don’t pull stunts like this again. You really scared me. I’m pregnant, you know!"
"Got it!" Helena grinned at both of them.
"Come on, I booked a seafood feast on the rooftop. Let’s have a proper get-together tonight."
Suzy had no interest in going, but Helena practically dragged her along.
Even as she followed, Suzy couldn’t shake off her doubts about Helena.
If Helena truly knew nothing, then why did her wording over the phone sound so similar to the person she was investigating?
No matter how normal Helena acted on the surface, Suzy couldn’t fully trust her.
Throughout dinner, she kept up a perfectly natural front while secretly observing Helena’s every move.
Strangely enough, Helena did absolutely nothing suspicious.
She simply ate with them and then dropped them off afterward.
Evangeline, however, had noticed Suzy’s unease.
Once Helena’s car disappeared down the road, she turned to Suzy. "Are you still upset?"
"Not exactly..." Suzy glanced in the direction Helena had driven off.
"Evangeline, to be honest, the reason I came here was to investigate that mysterious organization. I asked you to look into it before, but you said you couldn’t find anything.
"But right before I came, they provoked me and told me to come here, or else they’d go after you and Allen.
"There was no way I could just sit back and let anything happen to you both."
