Chapter 106 

Cole pulled up in front of his father’s mansion. He got out of the car and made his way towards the entrance. 

Before he pressed the doorbell, the door opened from the inside and it turned out to be Nora, the housekeeper. 

“Hey, Nora.” 

“Good day, Mr Cole.” 

“Is my Dad in?” 

“Yes, he’s in the library.” 

“Thank you.” Cole smiled at her and made his way towards the Library. 

He knocked on the door after which he helped himself in. Cole found Moore sitting on the chair behind his desk, with his phone glued to his ear. 

Seeing that his father was busy, Cole gently shut the door behind him. He went to the other side of the office where the mini bar area was and poured himself some drink. 

With the glass cup of wine in his hand, Cole made his way to the chair opposite his father, sat, and sipped his drink until Moore finished his call. 

“Hey, son.” 

“Good to see you looking all radiant!” 

Cole smiled, taking another sip of his drink. 

“Thank you! You don’t look bad either.” 

“So are you still doing business with Eric?” Cole asked, based on what he heard from the conversation. 

“No. We are only partners to Summer Incorporation and since Summer Incorporation is now owned by Hailey, I know we are in good hands. He has just been trying to meet up with me lately but I’ve been busy with other stuff.” “Will you create time for him?” Cole stared at his father intently. 

“I don’t know. The past month has been a roller coaster. I know he is to be blamed for bringing this doom upon himself by marrying a weird lady but I think these past couple of days must have been extremely lonely for him too. He is filled with regrets and now he lost it all. Connie stole from him too before she left. I hope he hangs in there and doesn’t do anything stupid to himself.”

Chapter 106 

“How close were you to Hailey’s mom? Were you aware when Eric decided to take a second wife?” 

Hailey’s Mom and I were not really close. But I knew her to be a calm woman. Whenever we had our hangouts, Eric came alone, he never brought her and when he started coming with a partner, it turned out to be Connie.” 

Moore looked a bit lost in thoughts. “I never understood why he had to take a second life. We knew he used to love Hailey’s mom but he lost it when he set his eyes on Connie. Then she got pregnant and then he married her.” 

“Do you have any idea how Hailey’s mom died?” 

Moore shook his head. “I was on a trip when Eric informed me that she passed away a few days back. He didn’t say much about the cause of her death. Why do you ask?” 

“Vanessa confessed that Connie might have something to do with the death. And I want justice for my woman.” 

“Even if Connie is arrested, I doubt she is going to confess to that. She’s very corny. No doubt her name fits her well.” 

“I don’t care. I just want justice for Hailey.” 

“You will get justice, Son. Once Connie is apprehended, then everything else will fall into place. We could also talk to Eric but I doubt he is going to know much. He was so insanely in love with Connie that he never saw anything wrong in what she did.” 

Cole sighed, placing his now empty cup on his father’s desk. “This is insane. I hope they get her soon.” 

“I know they will.” 

“By the way, how’s Hailey doing? She’s really one hell of a strong woman. And how was your trip?” 

“Hailey is doing well and congratulations to me for being a lucky dude because she accepted my proposal.” 

Moore smiled. “I had a feeling that was going to happen when you said you both were going on a vacation without the kids. Congratulations, Son! I’m so happy that all these good things are coming your way. Were you nervous?” 

“Of course I was.” Cole blushed. “I don’t know what I would have done if she refused me.” 

“She loves you too much, it was so obvious in her eyes the day we were all at the station. I’m glad you have someone like that in your life as a partner. Please continue to take great care of her.” 

Cole nodded. 

“We want to know when you will be available to meet your Grandchildren?” 

Moore’s smile got bigger. “Sure, I’m ready, anytime.”

“Yeah, I’m excited too. I’ll drive to a gift shop before the end of today.” 

“What was the best part about having me?” Cole asked Moore out of the blue. 

“What do you mean?” 

Cole shrugged, thinking of how to start the conversation. “From the moment mom told you she was pregnant with me till the day I was born and beyond.”
