EVENING 

Hailey was by the kitchen counter, getting snacks ready when Cole came in. He made his way to where she was, shuck his arms around her waist from behind, and kissed her shoulder. 

“What was that jealous look on your face earlier?” 

Hailey stopped what she was doing, released herself from Cole, and then turned around to face him. 

Hailey pouted. “You and the twins are in matching PJs. You all look so much alike and then I start to wonder why your genes are so strong. This baby” she pointed at her belly “better look like me or I’m going to kick you all out of my home.” 

Cole burst into a peal of satisfied laughter. 

Hailey frowned. “Not funny. I mean it.”

“But you know this is what we have no control over, right?” 

Hailey folded her arms. “I don’t care. I want someone to twin with also. I can’t believe I carried them for 9 months and they both ended up looking like you.” 

“Babe!” Cole said, trying to hold back his laugh. He cupped her face in his hands. “You are their mom. They look like you. Well, it’s just that I’ve got stronger genes.” 

Hailey rolled her eyes at him. 

“Who cares if they look like me? They’ve got your beautiful hearts. That’s what matters.” 

Hailey nodded slowly. “I think I can manage that.” 

“You have nothing to be jealous of. This pj fits you better than it fits us.” 

Hailes smiled, rolling her eyes again. 

“This is my first time wearing a matching PJ.” 

“Really?” Cole smiled. 

She nodded. “I only get for the twins. Most PJ sets come as kids‘ sets or family sets. At least the really beautiful ones that I’ve seen. It makes no sense to buy the family set since there’s a missing piece.” 

Cole released his hand from her face and then caressed her cheek. “I’m so sorry about that, my love. Your missing

Hailey nodded, smiling. She tiptoed and kissed his lips. “I love you? 

“I love you too, baby.” He said in between kisses, then pulled away after a while before they got carried away. 

“So should we tell them now or after the movie?” 

“I think we should tell them now. They might fall asleep before the movie is over.” 

“Are you done serving the snacks?” 

“Yes.” 

“Okay, let’s get going.” 

Cole picked up a bowl of popcorn, a bag of potatoes, as well as chocolates while Hailey carried the drinks. 

The boys were already seated on the couch, their attention on the TV, watching some cartoons. 

Cole and Hailey placed all the items on the table, and then Hailey reached for the remote and muted the TV. 

“Okay buddies, Mommy and I want to talk to you both.” There was a bean bag sofa by the corner so Cole pushed it closer. Thankfully it was almost the same height as the couch the twins were seated on and firm as well so he and Hailey sat on it, facing the twins who stared at them curiously. 

Hailey waved her left hand at their face. 

Ollie smiled beautifully seeing the ring sitting pretty on his mother’s finger “You are getting married to Daddy?” 

Hailey nodded proudly. 

“Are they supposed to know this,” Cole whispered to Hailey, 

“You will be surprised at how many times I have to remind myself of their age.” 

“Yay!” Enzo jumped down from the couch and did a happy dance making Cole and Hailey smile brightly. 

“Can we have matching suits on the day of the wedding? Please, mommy.” Enzo said with pleading eyes. “Yes, Mommy. Please.” Ollie said, getting down from the couch. 

“Yeah, Sure baby! You all are going to have matching suits with Daddy.” Hailes said, taking a glance at Cole. Enzo and Ollie grinned, hugging each other.

“Okay, buddies, one more surprise. The duo pulled away from the hug and turned their attention to Cote. 

Inzo’s eyes lit up. “A present!” 

Cole shrugged, smiling. “You all are going to be big brothers. Mommy is pregnant.” 

“Really?” Enzo immediately got teary. Same with Oliver who started crying. 

“Okay, we didn’t plan for this.” Hailey chuckled, taking a glance at Cole and then she drew one of the twins closer while Cole drew Ollie closer to him. They each carried both twins and made them sit on their lap, calming them. 

“I thought you wanted this so much,” Hailey said, looking down at Enzo on her lap. 

“I do. And I’m happy. I thought you were not going to give me a baby sister anymore. But you just made me so happy. I’m a big boy and big boys don’t cry but this surprise made me cry. It’s because I love you so much and I love the baby so much already. Thank you, Mommy.” Hailey watched her Son pour out his heart and her heart swelled with so much pride. Enzo initiated a hug and she hugged him back. 

Ollie gestured for his Daddy to put him down and he went ahead to join the hug. “Thank you, mommy.” 

“Okay, what about me, don’t I deserve a hug too?” Cole said to the trio. 

Hailey whispered in the twins‘ ear making them giggle, after which they went to give Cole a long hug. 

“Are you all happy?” Cole asked after they pulled away from the hug. 

The twins nodded in unison.
