Chapter 84
“I’m amused by your bravery. You keep doing more evil despite your history. I hope Hailey doesn’t take it easy with you this time around. She needs to put you where you belong.”
“You have just 1 hour to pack your stuff and leave my house.”
“What? She’s going nowhere. She is your heir and this is her home too.” Connie voiced out, coming in between father and daughter.
Eric ignored his wife and turned his attention to his daughter who was still sobbing. “Your time starts now. Leave or the securities will throw
you out!”
“You’ve gotta be kidding me!” Connie stared at her husband furiously.
“She is good at trolling people and plotting evil. I am sure she will be fine on her own.”
“You are also free to go with her if you want.” Giving both mother and daughter one last glare, Eric took his leave.
“Don’t walk out on me, babe. We are not done here!” Connie said at the top of her voice, going after her husband.
“Can you just stop and let’s discuss this? There is no way our daughter is leaving this house and don’t you dare order the securities to throw her out! This house belongs to me too. You can’t make any orders without consulting me!”
Eric said nothing and neither did he stop in his tracks to hear what She had to say.
“We are not done with this conversation, okay?!” Connie announced, stopping in her tracks the moment she was a few steps away from the kitchen. She watched as her husband made his way towards the stairs.
Connie mumbled some incoherent words. Remembering that her daughter needed her, She stormed into the kitchen. Vanessa was still
crying.
“You are going to hurt yourself, baby. Please stop crying.” Connie said, approaching her. She brought her thumb to Vanessa’s face, wiping the
tears away.
“But Dad is going to disown me. Just like he did to Hailey”
“No. Hailey had no one to fight for her, that’s why she was easily discarded. But you have me and i am going to fight for you.”
“You know sometimes your father says things he doesn’t mean. He is definitely going to come around.”
“You sure, mama?”
“I know so. Eric is my husband. No one knows him better than me.”
“I hope so. Because I am pregnant and I can’t stay alone. No one to take care of me. I don’t have a personal maid.”
“Of course, there is no way I would let you stay alone. Get those thoughts off your mind. You are going nowhere.”
“Your cheeks look swollen. Let me get some ice packs. Or you wanna change your clothes first?”
“I don’t have time for this, Debbie. Are you going to tell me what’s going on or should I go get my phone?”
Debbie took a glance at her phone, then back at Halley. She sighed deeply. “Fine, I will show you. But promise you are not going to freak out
Chapter 84
Hailes arched her brow. “How can I make a promise when I don’t know what it is about?”
“Fine,” Debbie mumbled, passing the phone to Hailey.
Hailey collected the phone and came face to face with her old picture on Vanessa’s lg page. Then there was a very long caption under her picture. Hailey took her time to read it.
Vanessa had first accused Hailey’s late mom of stealing Eric from Connie. She mentioned Hailey’s mom abusing her emotionally when she was little. Vanessa described Halley as a bully and accused her of mistreating her since they grew up in the same house.
She made it known that Hailey stole Cole from her and that she was the reason why Cole didn’t want to accept her baby or get married to her. She also exposed Hailey to being a slut; sleeping with several rich men just to get money to start up her fake company.
Debbie stared intently at Hailey as she read the caption. If she had her way, She would have kept the news away from Hailey. She knew how crucial the first few weeks of pregnancy could be. She didn’t want anything that would trigger Hailey’s mood or cause her to think.
Hailey saw the post had 46,587 comments. She clicked on the comments and her heart fell with what she saw. Toxic statements came from people who didn’t know her personally. They attacked her personality, as well as her company.
Not having the heart to look at those statements again, Hailey tossed the phone back to Debbie.
“You Okay? Babe?” Debbie voiced out in concern when she saw Hailey making her way out of the kitchen.
Debbie took a glance at Ollie and Enzo. She was glad the little boys were lost in their own world, enjoying their food and making conversations so she went after Hailey and caught up with her in the living room.
She found her seated on the couch, wiping tears away from the corner of her eyes.
“Please don’t cry,” Debbie said with a heavy heart, taking a seat beside her.
“You al
already woke up sick. I don’t want you to put so much burden on yourself”
