Chapter 129

Kaia's POV

I woke up with a start, causing my head to start aching me with how fast I stood up. But Kieran was by my side in an instant, holding me up and helping me sit properly. The first thing that came to mind was the fact that I was in a different room and it looked familiar…Allie's room.

The incident that led to me fainting came rushing back and fear gripped me, hoping it was some sort of nightmare and that it didn't really happen.

“Dylan…where's Dylan?” I asked, moving to stand up from the bed, ignoring the pain that shot through me. "He cannot die…he was trying to save me." I cried.

“Bella," Kieran called, trying to hold me in place but I pushed his hand away and hurt flashed through his eyes, “Take me to Dylan, I can heal him." I sobbed.

I could feel Lylah's presence, although she wasn't saying anything. “Why were both of them not answering me? Did he really die?” My entire body felt weak

I wasn't sure if the moon goddess was to blame in this situation, the fact that I wasn't her favorite was no longer a secret, but could things have gone differently if I willingly gave up and went with him. That way, nobody would have gotten hurt for my sake.

"Bella," Kieran tried again and this time I turned to face him. “He's dead because of me, isn't he?"

“I don't know how, Bella, but he's alive." He said, his voice sounded relieved as well as confused. But it sent a wave of relief down my spine as I fell to the ground, still crying.

Kieran knelt down beside me, as he rubbed his hand on my back in a reassuring manner as I cried. First of all, it felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulder and I didn't actually watch someone die because of me.

My loud sobs were reduced to a muffled whimper, my hand finally wrapping itself around him, as I took in his smell which calmed me down until I fell asleep again.

The next time I opened my eyes, I felt more at ease and Kieran was asleep beside me, his arms draped over me and unlike the first time I had woken up, everywhere was brighter. The only thing that felt the same was how tired I was but even that was better.

Careful not to wake Kieran up, I gently got out of the bed and opened the door as quietly as it would permit.

“Lylah," I called, once I was out of the room. “Are you there?"

"I am always here.” She replied softly.

"What happened yesterday? You wouldn't respond no matter how many times I call you. I thought you were gone.”

I was so engrossed with talking to Lylah that I didn't notice there was barely anyone in the hallway. That didn't stop me as I continued to Dylan's room. Kieran said he was alive, but I needed to see him with my own eyes.

"There's no way I am going to leave you. We just needed to do some things." She replied.

As much as it didn't make sense, I would get back to it as I knocked on Dylan's door and waited for him to open the door…If he was really alive.

“What if Kieran only said that to make me calm down?" Shaking my head, “he wouldn't lie about something like that, when he knew how important it was."

“He's right, Dylan's not dead." Lylah said.

“Then why isn't he opening the door?" I asked, knocking on the door again before pressing the doorknob down to check if it was opened and it was.
