Chapter 132
Felix’s POV
“They knew we were coming…they fucking knew we were coming!” I growled. I had been so certain Kieran wasn't in the Pack when we got there, but when he showed up halfway, it confirmed the fact that he knew something was up.
Instead of catching them by surprise, it was the other way around but there was no way I was going to give up. We were already there and she was going to come back with me no matter what.
“We lost a lot of men, Boss." My second in command, who was nursing a bruise of his own said. “No doubt they were expecting us. Do you think we have a mole among us?" He asked.
A mole? My men knew better than to betray me. And if by mistake there was, they had better die in the fight because by the time I was done with them, they'd be praying for death.
For a few seconds, the thought of Nessa going behind me crossed my mind but that girl hated them more than I did, so I pushed the thoughts away. Another thing that made this mission unsuccessful, was the light that came out of her, which made it almost impossible to get any closer to her.
“What's the next plan? With Alpha Kieran around and most of our men are dead, it just became more difficult.” He said, and I glared at him.
Knowing that sitting idle wasn't going to do me any favor, I stormed out of the cabin, shifting into my wolf and running to a location I tried my best to avoid until I needed help urgently.
“Felix!" My stepmom called, not at all surprised at my sudden arrival.
Elena, who was my father's real mate, was also a witch and I've met her several times to help whenever I needed to do something that was beyond Nessa's ability. But that didn't make us friends…it made us partners, people who shared the same end goal.
“That's impossible!" She exclaimed, minutes later when I explained what I saw back at the Pack. “That cannot be."
I frowned, “what do you mean?"
Before she could answer, my dad entered, his brows furrowing once his eyes landed on me. “I heard your attack didn't end well," he started, “how are you going to become the Alpha if you cannot handle the Pack with Kieran not even there?”
His disappointment evident, reminding me why I avoided coming here as much as possible.
"Considering that they have the ‘chosen one’ on their side, there wasn't much much he could’ve done.” Elena snapped. My eyes darting between the two of them, no doubt my Dad…not surprisingly, had done something wrong again.
“The ‘chosen one?’ isn't that like a tale?" He asked, “The entire clan of healers was wiped out, which makes it impossible for the prophecy to be correct."
Recounting everything again to him again, his eyes widened in surprise. “Then we have to get her on our side.”
"Go ahead if you think it's going to be that easy. She's Kieran's mate, and with the attack, there's no doubt their guard would be high now.” Elena said and I nodded.
"I was thinking a spell would work…"
“You can't always rely on spells to help you get what you want. You are a Lycan, you can get things done too." My Dad said, and my fist tightened as he spoke. My wolf threatening to come out and snap his neck for speaking to us like that.
I wasn't a full Lycan. My senses were more advanced than that of a normal wolf, but him being the dominant allowed me to shift into a wolf, also bigger and stronger than a normal one. So if I wanted to kill him, he was a dead man, which was the reason he kept quiet the moment I glared at him.
“Can the two of you stop fighting?” Elena asked, raising her voice. "if using spells to get her on her side quicker is going to work, than we go that route.”
