Maria saw lan planning to wait for Maja here and started to get antsy She wished Maja would hurry back. 

Even though Maja once said there was nothing between. her and lan, she still didn’t want them to drift apart 

lan’s time was precious, and it seemed he wasn’t exactly a fan of Maja. Now that he was willing to wait here, if Maja dilly–dallied for too long. Ms. Casson might stir up trouble again. Maria quickly found a quiet corner and dialed Maja’s number 

“Ms. Pennyfeather, Mr. Raymond is here waiting for you Maybe you wanna tie Coco outside first?” 

If she came back now, one bark from Coco would definitely alert lan. 

Maja knew lan came to give her a piece of his mind. The worst case scenario might be them calling off their collaboration. 

Or even worse, lan might publicly announce that he’d never work with her studio again. 

Maja frowned, holding the leash in her hand, contemplating how to explain. 

After all, she initially thought they’d be divorced In no time, so she didn’t see the point in explaining. 

Nobody expected things to escalate to this point. But thinking about lan’s cold attitude towards her, she thought, “Whatever, an apology will do.” 

But she couldn’t let him know Coco was staying at Rosewood Manor. So she went back to find Connie, hoping Connie could look after Coco for a while. After dealing with lan, she’d come back to fetch it, to avoid imitating lan more due to his allergies. 

Connie naturally agreed right away 

This delayed her for twenty minutes. She started running towards Rosewood Manor, worried lan might be getting impatient. 

But just when she was less than a hundred meters away from Rosewood Manor, she saw lan’s car pulling out. 

Ian looked a bit grim. Twenty minutes was his limit. Even when waiting for important partners, they never made him wait for more than five minutes, let alone this was the second time Maja kept him 

waiting. 

His brows furrowed, and through the car window, he spotted Maja right away 

Maja was running so hard that she was taken aback when she saw lan’s car. She slipped and fell. 

“Mr. Raymond.” 

She called out, ready to start explaining that she didn’t intentionally hide her identity and so on. 

But all she heard was lan’s icy question, “Do you live around here?” 

Maja was stunned for a moment, not quite catching on. Then lan asked another question. 

“Is your foot okay?” 

After all, they knew each other and weren’t complete strangers. He couldn’t just leave like that. 

And her fall looked pretty painful. 

Maja’s pants tore, and her knee was bleeding. She sprained her ankle and could hardly standi 

As soon as she tried to speak, she moved her leg and winced in pain. 

She looked down at her knee and realized there was a small sharp ‘stone embedded in it. No wonder it hurt so much. The car door opened, and lan sat inside, sounding calm.
