However, at this moment, a few hooligan–looking people suddenly appeared beside Leo, and they pushed him roughly. Leo was then taken into a nearby alley 

Maja walked a few steps, panting for breath while holding on to a tree by the side of the road in pain. She was worried that Leo would conflict with those people, so she gritted her teeth and followed. There were sounds of fighting and cursing in the dark alley “When will you pay back the money? If you don’t pay back, I will beat you to death today!” “Scumbag, you still dare to hide?” 

As soon as Maja reached the entrance of the alley, she heard these voices. 

She called the police immediately, worried that Leo would really be injured by these people, so she yelled, “Stop it!” 

They halted and turned around to see her in her fancy dress. They whistled, then slowly approached. 

“Hey, beauty! Leo, when did you meet such a beauty?!” 

Leo hunched his body, trying his best to protect his head. He looked up to see Maja, his eyes were filled with worry. 

“Maja?” 

Leo’s voice trembled with pain. He tried to stand up but his ribs were broken, so he couldn’t push. 

Maja was extremely disappointed in Leo who was almost thirty with no stable job–and he was reduced to begging in Greenfield! 

She was both upset and angry, thinking that if Daly and Susan knew about this, they would be very distressing.. 

But when she saw the thugs approaching her, she had no choice but to back away slowly. 

Her leg was still hurting, and she was wearing high heels shoes. As she backed away, her heel caught on the tactile paving on the road, causing her to lose balance and fall backward.

She was so striking in this gown that it was hard not to be recognized. Only then did Maja realize that she had strayed far from where she got off the car, and she couldn’t even see her car anymore. 

lan’s brows furrowed. He had seen her walking along the road dressed in a fancy dress, followed by a bunch of thugs. What was she up to? 

His features were well–defined, his face was not smiling, and he looked unapproachable. 

Seeing that Maja had steadied herself and hastily created some distance between them, he pursed his lips. 

His gaze fell on her dress. Her makeup was light today, making her eyes exceptionally clear. The curve of her waist was highlighted, revealing her smooth skin. 

lan immediately looked away. “What are you doing here, dressed like this?” 

Just as Maja was about to explain, the thugs surrounded her again. 

“Naughty lady, why did you bring your boyfriend here?” 

The punks‘ eyes shamelessly lingered on Maja. As they got closer, they realized how beautiful Maja was, a sight they had never seen in their lives. 

Maja’s face turned serious, she looked at Leo who was still moaning on the ground, feeling very annoyed. 

The thugs didn’t waste any more time and reached out to grab her, but lan intercepted them mid–air.
