Maja took a swift look at the woman standing beside Leo. Her fiery red hair was striking, her eyeliner was thick, and her makeup was caked on so heavily that it was hard to make out her real face. 

The woman sneered and spat.when she saw Maja charging towards them. 

“Leo, who’s she?” 

“Oh, she’s… she’s my sister.” 

“You’re lying! Didn’t you say you had no relatives in Greenfield? Is she your girl?” 

“No, she’s not!” 

Leo struggled to explain, but the woman raised her hand and slapped him, then spat on the ground. 

“Go away. Don’t come looking for me again.” 

Leo tried to follow her, but Maja stopped him. 

“Leo! You’re already married, what the hell are you doing messing around with other women? At least get a divorce first!” 

The woman hadn’t gone far. Seeing Leo and Maja tangled up, thinking about her past efforts, she was seething. 

She stormed back, pushing Maja into the road. 

“Bitch! Daring to steal my man! Do you know who I am?!” 

Maja was taken aback. She hadn’t expected the woman to come back so suddenly and push her into the road without hesitation. 

A car was coming from not far away, looking like it was about to hit her. 

Leo was standing at the corner, already screaming in panic. 

Yet the car stopped just in time, with only ten centimeters between it and Maja’s face. 

Maja, still in shock, got up from the road. She saw Leo grab the woman hard. 

“Go away! Go away! Never show your face again!” 

“Fine, Leo, if you dare talk to me like this, don’t bother coming to work tomorrow!” 

Leo’s face turned red, and he didn’t dare to look at Maja.. 

Maja was already back on her feet. She saw the familiar license plate and her scalp tingled. 

The car window rolled down, revealing lan’s face. 

He must have just come back from a party. Two buttons on his shirt were undone, one hand rested on the car window, showing 

off a silver–blue cufflink.. 

He glanced at Maja, his tone cool as the night. 

“New to the scamming game?” 

Maja didn’t know what to say. On one hand, she was pissed off by the woman’s actions and felt like calling the cops would at least charge her with intentional harm. On the other hand, she was surprised by lan’s appearance. It seemed like she bumped into him wherever she went, and always when she was at her most embarrassing moments. 

“Mr. Raymond.” 

She straightened her hair and nodded at him. “I’m sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.” 

After saying that, she turned to look at Leo. 

In some ways, Leo was afraid of his little sister. They used to live under the same roof, but back then, his sister was just a quiet girl who focused on her studies. She didn’t have the fierce energy she has now. 

“Leò, did you sell yourself for money? Is that why you’re with this woman?” 

It wasn’t that Maja was judging by appearance, but after seeing the woman’s actions, her favorability towards her dropped to negative numbers. 

If not for lan’s skilled driver, she could have been in real danger tonight. 

Maja had been extremely disappointed with her brother to begin with, now she just thought he was a lost cause.
