“Can you stop worrying about it? They’re my parents, not yours, and you’ve got plenty of issues in your own house, right? Stop bothering me, I’m leaving.” 

“Go ahead, I’ve already called the police. If you leave, that woman will be arrested.” 

Leo stopped in his tracks, his face twisting in frustration. 

Maja was relentless, “I’ll have someone take you back and I’ll immediately notify your family to pick you up.” 

“You!” 

Leo softened his tone. 

“Can you leave me alone? I’d rather starve to death than return to that home.” 

lan’s car window was down, he had been there during the last argument between Maja and this man. 

But Leo’s accent was thick, lan could only catch the gist of it, and he wasn’t particularly interested in his family affairs. 

Yet, he didn’t instruct the driver to leave, as the driver was still recovering from the shock. 

Maja knew lan was still around, she didn’t want to lose her composure in front of him again, so she made a call. 

Soon, a car pulled up, two burly bodyguards got out, grabbed Leo like a chicken, and tied his hands and feet 

Leo didn’t expect Maja to go this far, he wanted to resist, but seeing the muscles on the bodyguards, he was petrified. What a coward, lacking guts. 

Maja then made another call, this time to his parents, telling them they’ve found Leo and they should prepare to pick him up. Daly and Susan were somewhat incredulous, they felt they owed Maja a lot, so Susan brought up the civil servant again. “Maja, I’ve checked, the guy is really handsome, no bad habits. When can you come to meet him?” 

Maja massaged her forehead absentmindedly, accidentally meeting lan’s gaze. 

His profile was sharp and handsome, the faint light from the car roof reflected in his eyes. Maybe the night breeze was comforting. She didn’t hear Susan’s question, instead she found herself admiring lan’s facial features again, they were perfect, so much so that it made her want to draw him. 

From his hair to his fingertips, he was like a masterpiece intricately carved by God, the best model for an artist. 

Maja declined Susan, pretending to still be on the call and held her phone up. 

“I gotta go.” 

In fact, the call had ended a few seconds ago, she opened her camera and snapped a picture of lan’s current pose. 

The moment the flash went off and the distinct sound of the camera shutter echoed, Maja felt the world go quiet. 

So quiet that she wished she could hide in a ‘crack in the ground. 

lan raised an eyebrow, looking over at her. 

He tapped his fingers lightly on the window frame, his wrist taut, exuding an elegant fluidity. 

He didn’t speak, the chilly atmosphere lingered for a while, a faint smile reflected in his eyes. 

Maja’s cheeks started to heat up, she awkwardly changed the subject. 

“Mr. Raymond, I won’t disturb you any longer, sorry about earlier. I’ll invite you to dinner sometime, alright?” 

With that said, she practically bolted into her car, stomping on the gas, eager to get as far away as possible. 

Every encounter with lan somehow left her speechless! 

Once she drove to her newly purchased house in a neighborhood called RosenGarden, a romantic name that earned it the nickname “rich second generation’s lover district“. 

As soon as Maja stepped out of the elevator, intimate noises caught her attention. Ryan and his new girifriend were making out 

at the door. 

Maja suspected her luck wasn’t great that day. Retreating back into the elevator seemed inappropriate, but ignoring them and going into her apartment would be awkward.
