She bowed her head silently.
Over the next two days, Felix seemed busier than ever, with the wedding venue bustling with preparations. The social circles were abuzz too, as everyone was eager to see what he was up to.
Was he planning to humiliate Carol at the altar, or did he have plans to switch brides at the last minute?
Carol herself was on tenterhooks.
Three days before the wedding, Nathan reached out, asking if she fancied eloping.
Carol couldn't help but find the message amusing.
She had made no secret of her desire to toy with Nathan, and anyone with a shred of sense would see she was doing it all to unsettle him in front of Felix.
But Nathan, void of any sense, chose this critical moment to suggest eloping.
Carol stared at the message, feeling an odd sensation in her gut.

When she met Nathan, she wrapped herself up tightly.
One glance and he knew Felix had been rough with her again.
"Ms. Miller, I've thought of a place where I can go with you, and I've sorted out Fiona’s schooling for the next few years. Just say the word, and I'll have her transferred in a heartbeat," Nathan said; his excitement was palpable as he traced routes on the map, envisioning their future.
No wonder Felix always thought Nathan could be easily manipulated by women—he truly was brainless.
Carol, resting her chin in her hand, watched him before suddenly asking, "Are you sure about this? Do you understand the consequences?"

Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
