A million dollars?
Back in the day, even if Morgan hadn’t had a fallout with Boris, coming up with a cool million in cash would have been a strain. And now, with their bridges burned?
His face soured instantly.
“Where am I supposed to find a million?”
“Don't sweat it, I’ve got connections. The only question is whether Mr. Sanders is gutsy enough?”
Morgan, not one to back down easily and now more than ever eager to prove his worth and catch Boris’s eye, felt a spark of defiance.
That’s fifty million dollars—a project on par with what Boris was handling.
Just the thought of strutting around Boris with those fifty million had him tossing aside any reservations.
“Fine, I’ll meet with you in person.”
Only upon meeting did Morgan discover what these “connections” entailed—it was a loan.
And the lender was willing to extend this million-dollar loan just because he was a Sanders.
For the first time, Morgan realized just how advantageous his surname could be. No wonder Stella was so desperate to reconcile with the family.
Without hesitation, he stamped his fingerprint on the contract, eager to know who was willing to partner with him.
“How long till we break even?”
“A week at most, and billions will be in your account. But you’ll need to personally call customs, Mr. Sanders. Have them clear the shipment for the Sanders family’s sake.”
Just one phone call was a walk in the park for him.
Making money seemed ridiculously easy. With this realization, Morgan pondered why he should ever play lapdog to his father. He could well afford a lavish life on his own terms.
A smirk played on his lips, already fantasizing about the moment a week from now when he’d use that money to slap Boris’s face, metaphorically speaking.
Meanwhile, Stella got wind of Morgan securing a loan with JG.
JG, far from a mere underground betting ring, virtually ran high-interest loans across North America under Jason’s watch.
Now, with Morgan indebted to them, failure to repay would mean losing an arm, quite literally. No one dared default. Those who did were no longer among the living.
Stella’s lips curved in a smirk, sensing her plan nearing fruition.
Yet, she was also on edge. Beck’s people had begun digging deeper, and it was only a matter of time before they reached her.
After hanging up the phone, she felt her body heat up, her head spinning.
After a shower, she managed to sleep until dawn.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
